  • wow vintage mobile only 4 years ago but looks like a brick compared to todays phone.

  • awesome phone

  • can you help me where to find the English OS for this kind of unit? 'coz i have mine but it's in japanese OS :(

  • Comment removed

  • @brokensonata314 google xda-developers, go to their forum and scroll down to the kaiser...there you will get whatever you need.

    read the wiki before flashing!

  • i went on the eXpansys website, why is everything so expensive?

  • 149euros on stapples

  • Actually its an awesome phone! but you need to know much abt it! (flashing the rom)

  • how's the battery life on this mobile ?

  • i don't like it . i used htc touch cruise , which is basicly the same without the keyboard . and it was a total failure . the touchscreen was slow , the device was slow , and the menus were awefull . i used before it bb 9000 bold which was better than htc , obviously , but still not satisfied . so i went back to nokia realising that it is the best phone .the way it moves , the way the menu is designed ... everything . i am not "nokia super fan" , i tried them all .

  • @FLOYDROCKSSS

The good thing about windows mobile is that you dont have to keep the original ui if you dont like it.There are loads of roms or cabs available to customise the phone to your liking.

  • in my country kaiser means something like bacon :))

  • Era de asteptat

  • ce?

  • Since 2007.

I got one, and I'm from southamerica :)

  • Buy an unlocked TyTn II off eBay and you can use it with pretty much any GSM carrier. Just pop in the SIM and you're good to go!

  • no, if you are in the USA you need the HTC Vogue, which is the CDMA version

  • Pro, FTW

  • this is the best review i ever have seen of this phone :)

  • i have the same phone but i dont have as much features how do i make it have them

  • ehm... a stupid question... the touch screen is disabled while performing a call? Not all my past smartphones did it xD i hope this yes... is more than a smartphone!

    Thx in advance!

  • nope

  • unless u push the power button when calling, just the screen will go off and u won't push buttons when ur talking if thats what u mean

  • can you put images as your desktop?

or does it have to be the blue clock?

  • You can put images as your desktop ;) I've got the HTC Kaiser atm :D and I love it;)!

  • what company is this is it likE rogers fido bell or telus please reply ASAP

  • unlocked so it works for all gsm

  • this is the coolest phone around - its a real multi talent

  • i hav this phone but its hard to use but after a bit you will get the hang of it

  • If i buy this from expansy will it come with the original htc box. or will it come like it shows in the video?

  • dude! ur a bold face liar because my dad has that phone and its called "The Wing". by the way its a preetty cool phone! But i live in the untied states so it looks 1 persent different but you can buy the phone in the us at tmobile stores

  • This is for ATT and they are two different phones. The Wing doesn't "Tilt" now does it?

  • the tilt does not have the front camera although the kaiser does. the tilt is based off the kaiser/ tytn 2 but for some reason they took that feature off for the att version when htc phones get branded(sold by a carrier like att, and tmobile) alot of stuff can be changed

  • dude this is HTC TyTN II the wing iz a way different fone

  • can you watch youtube on dis phone??

  • Yeah!!!

  • thanks alot :) really good Review

  • how about with HTC Touch Pro?

    Wich one better?

  • is att getting this phone????

  • this fone is for att but its called the tilt and it doesnt hav the camera in the front it only has it on the bac

  • in htc tytn 2 there is a front camera

  • I just want that smartphone!!!

  • getting 1 in 2 days cant wait

  • i'm getting one in about 2 or 3 days :D

    you like the phone?

  • ehh its a good fone but the screen is small it makes internet using hard IF U WANT a fone that makes internet using good get the iphone 3g iam geting dat alsso

  • respect - very nice review (:

  • very nice vid.

  • do you need the external antenna to use the GPRS or is there also one built in?

  • The GPS can be used as it is, you would need software to use it. I think the antenna is for places with weak signal but from personal experience it is not necessary for normal use.

  • Is there any quality issues for this phone

  • what is with these retarded "unboxing" videos?? Who the hell cares what the crappy box looks like or the stupid power cords... just turn on the phone, spin it around, press some buttons

  • I like this phone, there is somebody tell me how to buy one ???

  • i like. i like. i ahve the HTC touch and this is an awesome vid... i need one.

  • is this phone for t-mobile too?

  • Yes. It's called the Vario 3 on T-Mobile.

  • yall know wht is the best? the p4550 or the 8925?

  • The p4550 has a forward facing camera for video calls. Other than that they are identical.

  • is this considered a smartphone?

  • Windows Mobile phones with a touchscreen are called PocketPCs and those without are called Smartphones

  • does anybody know what theme he is using i really like it

  • wonderful phone and review. The only one thing that realy bothers me is that it doesn't have a standard headphone jack where I can listen to music in my car with through axilury input, but I have to settle with an adapter. Otherwise it is great devise.

  • can you use at&t with that

  • Yea you can its called the tilt for At&t

  • that is not correct, the Tilt for At&t is the HTC 8925 and much cheaper than the HTC TyTN 2 (4550 aka Kaiser) the tilt is also lighter approx 168 grams to the Kaiser's 191 grams

  • Great Explanation ;)

  • Is anybody knows how much is this computer-phone today on the market without any package or deal? Is anyone knows that the TomTom includes maps of Hungary to?

    Cheers:)

  • No you can't buy it without packaging - all the cables and accessories are in the box with instructions and CD - so you need all this. Hungary on TomTom - check w w w . tomtom . com and find TomTom 6.

  • even though the screen is used with a stylus, you can use you're finger although its not one of those touch screen designed specifically for finger use. most people would miss the keys for number dialing but you just use you're finger with the touchscreen

  • i sold my n95 to get it..

n95 is useless slow as @!%%

  • one more day...tomorrow it will be mine, finally!!!:D:D:D

  • could you please test whether its GPS has the following problem associated with some WM devices: "Anyone using a WM device for GPS in their car now has to either remember to press a key every few minutes, or enter a 8 digit + password every 20 minutes" (ie WM not treating GPS as user activity)

    Is this true :(

  • I know with my PPC-6700 using Live search maps (wls.live dot com), my phone does not turn off when plugged in. On battery it will turn off to save battery, but using the bluetooth GPS on battery it dies in 20-30 mins. I've got one of these on order, I can't wait ;-)

  • I do not have this problem on the Kaiser.

  • You should learn how to configure it correctly and it won't happen again ;-)

  • Can u listen to The Music we listen to & the Videos we watch on Youtube on our bluetooth headset in the HTC TyTN II

    PLEASE HELP

  • Hello

can you upload a GPS review

want to see & know if the GPS comes with the voice commands (telling us to take left or right as we drive)or we need to buy it & pay Extra ?

  • It comes with a CD with TomTom; you can download one map for free. It has voice navigation.

  • hmm nice wouldnt replace my n95 for it tho

  • meh, the review could be better, since it wasn't real time how about testing the key features of the device? like the GPS. also, "you also got a calendar app, contacts app, ..." this is a review of the Kaiser(TyTN II/wtv) or Windows Mobile?

  • Actually it wasn't a review at all since it was made by ExpanSys, that sell the device. :-D

  • HTC makes it. ExpanSys is just an online retailer. They don't make anything.

  • What I meant is that the video was made by ExpanSys. So it isn't a review, it's a promotional video - just because ExpanSys sells it.

  • a very good review ..

  • can you send a full movie on the phone and then see it or do i have too konvert it

  • What is the battery life like?

On my TyTN version 1 the battery life has been really bad. Also the touchscreen needed re-calibrating way too often. How does the version 2 compare?

  • Touch screen needed re-calibration? You had/have a defective device.

  • Price=799€

  • wot about the price??

    how much is it? and

    when's it gonna release?

  • This idiot is sitting right in front of a computer and asking these dumb Q's - Try GOOGLE, bonehead!

  • god i love this

why cant we have this kind of stuff in the states?

  • actually, it's coming out on AT&T Wireless as the 8925 aka "Tilt".

  • really??

wow i would love to get that

do u happen to know when it would be released?

    thx for the info :D

  • Its out now, but its not cheap. As the fella said its available at Expansys. Cheapest I've seen it is £469. I'm waiting to see what the mobile companies do it for on contract. Recent reports suggest Orange and Vodafone ect will announce details of packages at the back end of this month (September)... Still going to be pricey though.

  • yea but not for the states....im kinda waiting on the ATT release

    because i already have them..

  • What is the main screen pluging? is it HTC specific to the kaiser? the "touch" has an identical one with "touch genie?" where there is a 3d menu (like a iphone)

Other Kaiser reviews with WM6 have the old Pocket PC menu style. I really like what they have done with this unit.

    Any idea?

  • It has partial touchFlo capabilities. You'll find that it has that cool finger-scrolling, "flicking" thing like the Touch and the iPhone have, but no 3D Cube menu that the Touch has.

  • I'm not sure about those soft keys being in the position that they are in. You will probably type a lot of half written messages. The phone looks pretty potent though but I'm sure AT&T doesn't want to damage the iPhone's momentum....being an iPhone owner I think I would get this phone.

  • this phone is greaaaat !! the best so far but it has not so good video recording quality , it's not vga resolution (640*480)

  • Other reviews on the Kaiser show the normal WM6 screen but this particular review shows a hybrid of what seems to be 1/2 Touchflo and 1/2 WM6. I think it looks freakin neat! Is this something that the Kaiser will come with or is it somethings all WM6 interfaces can be changed to in the settings?

  • When it will be able and unlocked at Europe?

    Thanx

  • Thanks for the great review! I do have a question about the GPS. Does the Kaiser have a built in GPS antenna, or do you need to use Bluetooth external antenna? And what about the external input on the back? Thanks!

  • Thanks for your video! Could you please tell me if the price of Kaiser on Expansys is true? And what about its GPS? THKS!

  • great review! do you think the model you have is going to be the last or will it continue to keep being updated? the reason i ask this is it is comming closer and closer to getting TouchFlo features. I'm not sure if they are ever gonna give it a TouchFlo screen, unless it already is? that looks just like the normal touchscreen tho, isnt it?

  • Yes it is a normal touchscreen (sorry, I should have been a bit clearer) - it's using part of the home screen that the Touch uses, but does not use the TouchFlo interface. This is viewed as a business device as opposed to the Touch which is aimed at a broader consumer market, so I'm not sure they would ever add it - but it would be very cool if it had it as well.

  • ah ok, thanks for the reply tho.

hey do you think you could ever post a video recorded by the kaiser? or perhaps some pictures showing how it takes good low-light pictures?

  • i did notice that the settings panel has a touchFlo icon though

  • i cant wait to get my hands on this phone

  • Wow again a nice video from the HTC kaiser. Expansys... any news on the release date?!

  • None yet but we'll keep you posted here!
