My son was born with a growth deficit- funny enough he works on a farm and lifts heavy weights..
Thanks to doctors finding out in time and weight training he won't be teased about being small.. I wish ignorant people wouldn't put young people off doing healthy sports..
Hormone growth is encouraged taxing muscles especially for kids whom stop growing- try it sometime before you put other people off helping their kids with growth deficits.. My sixteen year old will not be a dwarf since getting growth hormones from a special hospital unit + prescribed hard manual labour around a farm and weight training which has helped him to grow up wards and stronger..
the URL was left out of my quote, dunno why. sorry about that. but i was just trying to bring something into concideration before possible bad injuries happen and the kid will have to stop training.
In fact, now that i think about it, i dont even care.
"The solution? While prepubescent, the athlete should focus on flexibility, mastering the basic FBEs and then increasing strength endurance. In terms of ring specific strength, the primary focus should be on ring handstands, lock arm press handstands and planche development until the athlete has either completed puberty or is approximately 16 years old."
@82Bdog He quoted Coach Sommer a renown expert. Just copy a sentence or two of this qoute and google. YT does not like hyperlinks in the comments, that's likely he did not provided the link.
Btw I wish nothing but good luck and successes for both Stroe kids, and I hope to hear they accomplish great things in near future :)
"Premature exposure to iron cross training will significantly damage growth plates in the elbow and greatly decrease the mobility of the ligaments in the shoulder girdle. Especially problematic here is that the damage to the elbow will often not manifest itself as pain until the athlete begins their adolescent growth spurt. The shoulder girdle mobility problem will also be further exacerbated during the athlete's pubescent growth spurt resulting in a significant loss of ROM. "
