I think Michelle Stanistreet sums it all up when she states " They are now claiming to be in Financial difficulties". As a member of the NUJ outside the UK I can honestly say that the worlds financial crisis is being used by many businesses as a lever to cut back on staff. In Spain this is now being investigated to some extent and as in the UK people are fighting back. Firstly to save their jobs and secondly to preserve the democratic status of society in general. Good luck to all of you.
A great explanation as to why journalism is so important. As for the great financial brains behind the cuts, I think we're a little less in awe of their super-human intelligence than we used to be. Tell them to stop killing the goose that lays the golden eggs. By the way, the guy with the guitar can't sing in tune.
