@Stalin646 You need to recall the Soviet Union was bailed out by the Allies in World War II, then subsidized afterwards in various ways, such as wheat deals, meanwhile millions of communist-captive-peoples were trying to escape the enforced 'peoples paradise' and many were also shot down in the process. Only hardcore communists wanted to 'maybe' live in the Soviet Union, but millions desired freedom and were willing to risk their very lives to flee to the West. Communism is slavery to the state.

@Geostrategic1 lol thats not true people tryed to leave the soviet union lived in eastern germany mainly east berlin i believe only a few 170 where shot. but they traded one hell hole for another because the west especially the USA was just as bad just as corrupt. there was a lot of propaganda from both sides which made leaving look good a lot of poor people in the west lived with the illusion that they could get rich and that they where free. the soviet union bailed the world out by freeing us
