  • But, I should add, no matter what side of the pond you're on, try (for fun) making eggy bread/French toast with cinnamon rolls or cream-cheese-cinnamon Danish for the bread....Yeah, baby.... :P (If you try the cream-cheese-cinnamon Danish, cut the roll horizontally, have the tops facing each other, batter them, and carefully fry; a square pan where you can easily fry the edges to keep the thing together may work the best.)

  • This is pretty much a global dish with various names depending upon your homeland, and with various creative twists on its preparation. "Eggy bread" is more descriptive of what it is, and "French toast" speaks to a purported style or origin of cuisine.

  • You don't need a million ingredients jesus. Crack 2 eggs (I use 3 or 4 because I need to gain weight lol) into a bowl whisk it soak some bread in it (ANY bread). Put some butter in the pan and fry them until golden brown on both sides. I like mine with some tomato sauce, but any sauce you want. Then just chuck the rest of the egg in the pan and make a mini ommlete in like 20 seconds.

  • Thats not eggy bread. eggy bread just eggs, salt and pepper in it. I think that's French toast or something.

  • use heavy bottom pan for suck fries..!!

  • French toast sounds good i guess...ha ha ha...

  • blehhh idk if im a fan of french toast but it lookd good :p kinda reminded me of the dessert pancakes i had the other night mmmm

  • In Switzerland it's called "Fotzelschnitte" and cream, salt, pepper and cinnamon are not required.

It's a nice recipe to use bread that is a few days old and not very soft anymore. Dip the slices separately first into the milk, then the eggs (mixed with salt), then fry them. I once put pear syrup on the fried bread and it was awesome.

  • They call it french toast in the description for a start, and who gives a flying fuck what its called anyway? It's just food.
