This track will get u rite together on the dancefloor in sumbodys club !!!(LOL) Dont Try to STOP Me !!! For the last Time !!! (LOL) !!! Vinyl Rocks !!!!
I said infinite times and i will say it again 1981 was the best year ever for music.In my life I am glad to have lived thru this era with the 12 inch music mixed on the radio and in the clubs!
G-R-E-A-T S-O-U-N-D !!! This style called funky unfortunately does not exist nowadays !!! (everything is called RnB and young people cannot dance like that !!)
Heavyweight. I remember a mix going around the Scottish rave scene back in '91...JJ Frost or Seduction or Slipmatt or someone was busting I'm Ready in the mix. Ten years later I found out what the tune was. Anyone into proper Italo (i.e. not the 80s stuff, not the 909-ed up 100-track compilation piano rubbish) MUST check Kano's Ikeya Seki...Proto trance epic spine tingler ;-) lll
This who Daft Punk strive to be, which is all good,but they have light years to cover before the can even match Kano. We were all poppin´to this and "I'm Ready" way before it was called techno. This was a crucial badn in the birth of the hip hop culture. Excellent jam....
Folks! This is Kano with Don't Try To Stop Me. This is one of the damn old skuul song back in the day. I need someone to invent that time machine to power us back to the future. Enjoy!!!
OMG The Doctor Detroit is in Heaven I love this Old School! thanks 2 @GrandMasterGuess for the upload and to the 3 who dislikes this they must have been dropped on their head!
for those who may be interested, I think this got remixed a little and is sitting on a podcast from 8/28 for the Deep House Cat House. growing on my by the day, top track..
this feels good to know that there are those who still feel the same vibe as myself, there was another track on the album called "Now Baby Now" that gave me that strong Kano style, this group had its influence on rnb and hip hop and only those of us who lived it truly know this
Hell no, they were all Italian, all from Milan: Dino D'Autorio on bass, Luciano Zinatti on guitar and Stefano Pulga on synths and keys. But they were popular in the US, and NYC in the early 80s.
The musicians are all Italians, but the singer was a Black guy. I don't know what the Black guy's nationality was though. Type in "KANO - CAN' T HOLD BACK" you can see what the singer looks like. It should be the first video that comes up. Anyway, I loved these guys back in the eighties, their song "I'm ready" was the jam at the block parties.
Yep, true, I had a chat with Stefano Pulga in 2004 and he has now a studio in Milan where he keeps producing music , he told me a lot on the synths and fx's they used back in 1980...and of course 10-12 clappers bass and real drums..great old times...
Hi, the clappers were people taken among Stefano's friends, also some of then were literally picked up from the street.
The number of the clappers was varying from 7-13; I have been told by Big Bank Hank from Sugarhill Gang (when he came to perform @ Raffles in London) that they've used 13 clappers live AND a drum player on a Ludwig;
I also know that they have used an old AKG sound effect to process the claps;
the bass player was from Rome (If I remember well) but Idont know more
@Hxs28 lol that's crazy. At the moment I'm reading a book about mixing audio and producing music and there's a section that goes on about the lengths producers used to go to in order to get specific sounds/samples. Just seems mental to think about these days as a simple search for clap samples will find you hundreds.
On the flipside though, I'm 25 and I think the music from this time has a lot more rhythm and soul than almost everything available today.
@Aspire85 Hi, thanks for your reply, well of course that music is more groovy, this is because there is not a digital click but a drummer who set the tempo; human beings execute their parts with little tips or delays or anticipations that give to the total performance a very strong sense of human feel and more groove,
you can try an experiment, just record your own claps without click for 3 minutes then add instruments following your own performance (as a click)...it will be more groovy.
This track will get u rite together on the dancefloor in sumbodys club !!!(LOL) Dont Try to STOP Me !!! For the last Time !!! (LOL) !!! Vinyl Rocks !!!!

@antblue363 1982 wasn't too bad either, but I agree, 1981 really had some hard hitters. Mostly, in the rare groove cateory.

@robix73 penso che il Pulga sia un po difficile a entrare in contatto ora ora, ma ascoltai che lui resta a MIlano se l'aiuta?
