There are 2 misconceptions by the untrained ear of the announcers: a)herald trumpets are fanfare trumpets with a long bell shaft, and they are exceedingly difficult to play, especially to play in tune, b)these CBS bozos are used to electronically enhanced performances and recordings, but this is a live performance with microphones. They actually sound quite good, in spite of the few missed notes.

Sos but it was originaly a SONG written by an Englishman John Stafford Smith called the 'Anacreontic song' the tune was 'stollen' to be used with the lyrics from the poem 'Defence of Fort McHenry' by Francis Scott Key in 1814. Sorry to burst your bubble!!

Whatever happened to the music at Texas Stadium that's on the 2nd half of this video (when the balloons are released)? I used to get fired up to hear it on opening kickoffs. They also used to play it whenever Dallas scored a touchdown or at the end of a half. Jerry Jones needs to bring it back to Texas Stadium!
