  • This is ok. nothing even close to the original. nobody can sing this song like david ruffin.

  • Obscure sounds like this got me through the 80's, an appalling decade for music.

  • Yes happy days indeed - many wonderful memories of seeing them at The Marquee back in the 60s. x

  • Happy days.

  • My band was playing recently and the a guy came up to me and commented on my mod roundel t shirt as we were putting our banner up. Said he was the lead guitarist...Im presuming having looked them up it was Alan King? Bit early for me as I was born in 71 but nice to look back and think the guitarist actually was nice enough to come and chat.

  • GOD BLESS YOU REG, RIP.

YOUR SONGS & THE ACTION HAVE STAYED WITH ME MY ENTIRE LIFE, STILL ONE OF THE BEST GROUPS EVER!

  • RIP ... Reg ... lost a wonderful soulful haunting voice.

  • @chelle329 I agree-a sad loss

  • Breathtaking stuff-FAB

  • I had this record on a 45 back in the sixties, with the flip side being 'Baby You've got it'... I'm stoked to find this, thanks to the one who posted it...

  • Horny voice!

  • @527crusader get the rest of their stuff and quick...yes he had an amazing organ (possibly still has) erm...

  • Pure class !!!!

    Enough said .

  • wonderfull

  • I love The Action's version of this song - I first heard it many many years ago and had forgotten how good it was

  • The Temptations,of course were one of the greatest groups ever.Still, here The Action outdoes their own version with this.

  • As a blue-eyed soul vocalist Reggie King was up there with Chris Farlowe and the Stevie's - Marriot n Windwood. The Action could nail harmonies like no other mod band.

Someone made a documentary about them called 'In the Lap of the Mods'. It's well worth ferreting out but it was full of talking heads from the 'biz' who hadn't half the Action's class, like Phil Collins, saying how amazing they were.

Kin magic mate. Thanks for posting that.

    Kin magic!

  • Class version of a killer Motown tune.
