@salgoudsamoht It surely does work wonders. Like your description of that genre. Let me say that unlike any kind of genres of music, New Age has a very good effect. Enigma's, specifically, songs give you clues about themes that you could have never thought about. Then, it fills with music to give you a space to contemplate that theme and how it relates to you. Finally, you and I win, as audience. Enigma rules :)

@B1N1N1M you're right. my assertion about alpha waves was an 'aesthetic liberty' but the part about their music having 'complex sonorities expressed as simple melodies' and 'it works wonders' is an empirical fact. i discovered this years ago while listening to a CD of Padmabhusan Hariprasad Chaurasia play a 70 minute version of Bhupali, a 5-note raag, with him and his nephew on bansuris & their tabla and tanpura accompaniment. complex sonorities and simple melodies, then levitate and transport.
