neca really did a great job with the ninja turtles. I was too late at finding the ones with the diorama parts but found the black and white versions instead. They are not bad but i prefer the colored ones. great vid as always

Im 27 so as u can guess i grew up with the original series of figures & in my opinion they will alwsy be the best.. altho i gotta admit them neca turtles are lookingg quite funky altho they would be almost perfect if they had the red,orange,blue,pruple head bands.. i know the turtles started out originally in the comics wearing same colour but i always liked the individuality of the different colour head bands... Anyhows great collection , makes me wish i didnt get rid of mine when i was younger

I think the NECA Turtles are actually the worse. Probaly because they are like in the comics when all the bandanas were red. My favourite are the Movie Star ones and that isn't the first time Leo can hold his katana like that. He can hold it like that in the Movie Star line and the TMNT one.

Love the original Mirage Studios issues and one-shot covers. Have to track those down someday. Wonder if they're still expensive. I remember back in the heyday of the Turtles those early MS issues shot way up in value.

Yeah because of the rarity. Comics decay over time due to the acid used in them. It's been 25 years. Finding the old comics in good condition is gonna be tough.

Do you have the action figures from the original movie that were done by Playmates? Those ones were really good. The torsos were plastic but the head and limbs were rubber. Worth picking up.

@tortugoo acrylic paint or model paint works easiest. If you use acrylic be sure to get some spray on clear coat after you're done painting so it stays on.

I'm glad to tell you that playmates are making 25th anniversary figures that are directed towards collectors, like you. So expect a lot of detail and articulation, also they are re-releasing some of the classic figures from the 90's toyline. So what are you waiting for? Get excited :)

The original Turtles comics were published in black and white back in 1982, the only colour we saw of the turtles was on the comics front cover, and Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird pictured them with all the same coloured head-bands; Red. The only way you could tell them apart was by their weapons.

It wasn't until it was made into a cartoon back in 1988 that the turtles had the coloured head-bands added to them - so that kids could easily tell them apart.

Nice collection man, I see you got them from Fella's, and the Fella's gift store near me actually sells them for more than they should cost, i got them with the bases for $28 each at a local gift store.

And i got a second set without bases in little tubes(cool packaging) from Target for $20 each. just FYI, you may wanna check out Target if u havent.

I got 3 of my turtles from Target too. The tubes are cool, and pretty cheap. I snagged Raph for 27 dollars at a comic book shop in the city (Minotaur on Elizabeth Street).

This is the second time i've ever bought turtles toys, the first was the retarded live action version of the 4some.

I can't remember the exact story line of that short comic series was about, but firstly it isn't actually the "Power Rangers", just some characters dressed up to resemble them.

I believe that the Turtles fought them and won and that's about the jist of the Archie comics.

That was just the way that the Image comicbook writers took the storyline.

From Issue one Donnie was blown up after celebrating their birthday, and thus rebuilt himself as a turtle cyborg.

Ralph took over the Foot Solders Ninja Army and thus donned the armour of the Shredder.

He looked really cool in it too.

Later on they turn on him thou.

Leo lost his hand in a fight against some mutated Lizards (not Leatherhead) it was bitten off. Later on Donnie replaced it with with a cyborg hand.

Ralph is always bad-ass! Nah, he just went down the wrong path for a little while... The foot ended up turning against him in the end anyway. He did look awesome in the Shreeders out-fit though!

As for Mikey, I can't remember if he was destined to be a Farther, but he did have a very strange spikey orange Girlfriend for a while there...

Well, that's just my personal opinion. I love the fact they are so articulated; and so pose-able! I have seen some customised Neca turltes (on ebay) with their bandanas painted in the cartoon colours.

Those Neca TMNT figures look awesome out of the box. They have a black and white version of those preorder at Amazing Toys website. go check it out man. It comes with a really cool base when you get the set of 4.

for some reason the shipping company a store I shop stuff in wont send the figurines even thought the store have now double ordered the NECA toys, Its been a month now since I ordered and they arent even in the shipping list.

Yeah mate, your best bet is to buy off the net. A local collectable store wouldn't get the turtles in for me because they have had a bad history of trying to get rid some of the other turtle toy lines in the past and don't won't to take a chance..... Assholes.

As for the shipping company... as long as you haven't put money down, I'd look elsewhere.

The shop owner is pretty pissed as well as I cus hes a tmnt figure collector. It seems that the company that he order his wares from and get it shipped to him, don't priority Norway. But that company can be really slow, my gf order a dragon figure and got in a half year later (she got it for free then) and the FF7 Cloud on bike cane 3 months after the other figurines. Maybe I get my turtles after xmas or with season 2 figures XD

Hey dude, I finally got the NECA Turtles, and the Leonardo I bought has his arms on backwards in the package, just thought that was interesting, often times factory screw ups increase the value, I don't know what that entails with this particular figure, but I thought it was interesting none-the-less. I'm working on an extensive video of just my TMNT showing everything I have, I'll leave it as a video response on here when it's complete. Take care mate!

I doubt I'll open it, I haven't opened a Turtle Toy since 1994, I will probably buy another set of the NECA toys though so I can have a set of them open. The Leo could have his arms placed correctly, but from what I can tell the Left and Right arms are placed on the (wrong) opposite sides, I've been hearing a lot about different mistakes in that series, theres a guy here on YouTube that has a Donatello in package but it has Raphael's head. I'm hoping the error will make the Leo worth more.

I can't remember where exactly I picked up issue #50 from, but it was quite a few years ago. Your best bet is probably either ebay or comic shop websites.
