I just signed up and want to list some of my things but am afraid that they will get stolen. I can't find any forum or chat site from established users. I have things like Milwaukee tools but even with a healthy deposit, it's cheaper to pay deposit and steal than to buy one. It looks like it's left up to the owner to deal with this. I'm guessing part of the idea is the "trust system" as other sites have been built, but I can't afford to be a guinea pig for the system.
This is brilliant. We all buy stuff all the time that we use 1 time a year or less. This is a much better strategy for conserving. I really dig this business. Now the question is how to handle issues like broken tools, theft, etc. I'll be curious how they address these concerns.
eicebleu, you're renting, so I think both parties involved would live near each other and meet face to face. I believe the owner can also specify a refundable deposit as collateral for more pricey items. It's a cool concept that I hope catches on...
