I always wanted something like this. Even before learning about them, at night when I was tired and stressed out I wished I had a pool I can just jump into so I won't have to shower and so I can just relax completely. That has still yet to be made, I will make it.
Did this yesterday for the first time. At first I thought relaxing but not really worth the ~40 euro for an an hour. A few hours later after I'd arrived home I ingested some hashish and the Aneros for the 'usual' hours of ecstasy. But as I had my eyes closed I noticed my visualisations were much more vivid than normal, and what's more I still had the feeling I was floating, the consequence was that I felt like I was having an outer body experience bungy jumping into space
are these floatation tanks at spas or something like a spa? i want to try this so bad but i cant afford to buy one. i do live in a big city and there seems like there would be a facility that would let people pay by the hr or whatever so a regular joe such as myself could use one without having to buy one. do you have a place like that in your city ? if so whats the place called? i dont even know what to google to fine one
Am I wrong or, shouldn't the room be completely dark, just you and your thoughts in there, not a bunch of lights and a bright blue wall, maybe that was just for the videorecord though
@HandsomeSasquatch you need a certain density of salt. just a tank 8'x 5' needs about 1000 pounds of salt.... and you dont want to drain and fill repeatedly just filter the water... i doubt you could get the ratio of water to salt right in a small tub. Plus you dont get light/sound isolation in a tub.
you need to be naked and in total darkness and in a sound proof tank for this to work the best.....clothes, sound, touch, etc. create unwanted stimulation when in the float tank
I have just experienced my first floatation about 2 hours ago. I came out feeling more tired than when I first went in. Feel nausea and slight headache, I could hardly breathe in the humid air so how can I relax if I'm breathing so hard? I find it better in my own bath tub.

@synth3333 Yeah, and this is for badluckbetty9 too... it's sensory deprivation. They deprive everything so that your brain can be unlocked. Gravity is one of the most important things.
Where can i go to use a isolaion tank. i really want to experience this but dont know where to start looking. Im in memphis tn. Anybody have any suggestions?
Yes it is recommended not to wear clothing as the part of the wet clothing that is out of the water can feel a different temperature and the amazing effects of floatation come from there being minimal sensory input.
I first started floating to treat a sports injury and I've found the benefits to be absolutely amazing. The relaxation is pure bliss and an hour in the Ocean Floatroom is the equivalent to a few hours sleep. I now float regularly to maintain a healthy lifestyle and manage stress. FANTASTIC!!
This looks like an ad to a Resident Evil movie.

The magnesium sulfate is absorbed into the skin, reducing inflammation. Same as when people soak their feet in epsum salt or just take a bath in it.
