  • nice nice nice ! :)

  • really weell put together. pity yhe series wasnt as good as that

  • This is actually quite good. I'm often a bit antsy going into these things because many of them are pretty terrible.

I still prefer a really terrific DS9 one done to the BSG format but this is definitely my new second favorite. And DS9 is my preferred show of the two Treks in question so I'm biased anyway. :P

  • how come you had jeri ryan and not jennifer lien, and all your footage is from caretaker!

  • @John3285

I used ten different episodes for this vid not only caretaker. But the first few clips are all from Caretaker because it shows how Voyager got lost. I had only enough time/room in the vid for 9 names and because Jeri has appeared in far more episodes then Jennifer, I choose Jeri. I hope you understand my editing choices now.

  • @Bloempje721 Most of your footage is from the first episode, it would have been far more logical to have Jennifer since her character played a vital role in sending voyager closer to home.

  • This is a significant improvement from the actual opening.

  • this is ctully really good

  • @LlansleyNinja141 frak you!

  • @LlansleyNinja141 thumbs down disliker!

  • @LlansleyNinja141

Then why are you watching my video?

  • @Bloempje721 dont pay attention to the troll

  • very nice i just started getting into battlestar galactica and this was awesome,

  • This was amazing, thank you for making it!

  • Made Voyager almost epic...almost.

  • "141 survivors." Epic.

  • This was amazing and damn right spectacular!

  • Not bad, not bad at all.

  • You sir... have made Voyager look cool ! :-))) What a feat !

  • As a fan of both shows.. heh.. that was pretty good.. ;)

  • goose bumps. great work

  • It would have been much better if you used the original Battlestar Galactica music from 1978. Other than that a nice video

  • i have to admit this s a pretty sweet video 10 points

  • That was pretty damn cool!

  • Very Very Nice

  • Ha ha ha, that is quite funny, really. it actually made VOY look good!

  • very clever, I dug it.

  • @Accisma

    Behold the abomination:

    youtube.com/watch?v=LiR8bB_EdAI

  • Just what is the name of the font you used for the names?

  • @ExanRev

I don't know that anymore it's almost 2 years ago that I made this. I'm sorry

  • @ExanRev The font is called Bank Gothic :)

To the author of the video, nice work!

  • i dont like this show, but this opener is amazing!!!

  • Bloempje721: I know!!! Thatvwas one of my favorite videos on here, and I was heartbroken when it was taken down. T.T

  • But IT's FANTASTIC! O_O

Oh my God! You are a genius! ^_^

  • Wow, dude. That was beautiful!! XD

  • @Michaelofsavlington: Bah, as IF! Plus, this vid is NOT rubbish!

@Bloempje721: AWESOME!!!!!! :D There is no word to describe how awesome this is!

Btw, do yu take requests? If so, can you make a Voyager theme song using the Buffy the Vampire Slayer theme song? Please, and thank you!

  • @mzkatkat2

    Thank you :D

I did made a Voyager/Buffy opening vid 2 years ago or so but youtube took it down. It was called Janeway the alienslayer

  • @Bloempje721

if you get a chance you should re-upload it, it sounds great! ^__^

  • rubbish, star trek has nothing on bsg

  • It may just be me, but the new BSG style intro's pretty much make anything look beyond awesome (even if it was already awesome to begin with).

  • this is a cool opening with the battlestar galactica theme song

  • cool =)

  • good work :D

  • The premise was promising and there were good characters played by good actors. There were some decent eps (i.e. "Tuvix"), but it sometimes (well more than sometimes) it felt like the writers didn't know what they were doing.

Continuity seemed awkward at best and Janeway's soapbox moments were often painful to watch (the worst was at the end of "Alliances").

Overall, I'd say it was the weakest of the five live-action series.

  • @toddsmitts And don't forget the endless techno-babble and meaningless jargon:

"Captain, we're being pulled into a Temporal fluxfield inversion event which is destabilising the event horizon quantum accelerator arrays, creating a mezon surge in William Shatner's hairpieace"

"Compensate with the Bullshitium reactor charge set to 11658.32 Megashatners and make Seven of Nine wear an even tighter Spandex catsuit."

  • great! i mean... survivors looking for home :D

  • This was great! Actually it makes me sad a little bit because it makes Voyager look better than it actually was.

  • Hey, the point of any intro, promo, commercial, trailer or whatever is to make it look good.

    Not your favorite show then?

  • Cute and WRONG at the same time. ;-)

  • that would have made a kick ass opening ...good stuff

  • Ha, the logo design. Clever.

  • Thats cannot be more PERFECT!

  • Excellent!

  • Nice job.

  • Nice, epic

  • Kickass! Do more!

  • That was a really good video. It brought a smile to my face. I've been contemplating lately what Voyager would have been like had it been more like the re-imagined BSG.

  • Grade: D+ Why use season 1's clips for the opening?

  • @syg33142

Up to 0:33 I only used clips of the episode the caretaker because they tell the story of how Voyager got lost. It fits with the words in the video

  • 1-10, the scale 1 being terrible to 10 being excellent.

    With that being said, 3.

  • @syg33142

Oh and this may sound stupid but what does grade D+ means? we don't use that here in the Netherlands, we use the numbers 1-10 instead.

  • @Bloempje721 That's not a stupid question. If you use a different grade system, then how would you know? We use A-F. A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, etc. "A" Being the top grade, "F" literally meaning Fail. And, there is no "E" grade, nor + or - for "F".

  • @Bloempje721 A D+ roughly translates to a 4.5 or so, just below average. I'll go so far as to give it a 7.5. great video, but it could be a bit longer to move into the 8's or 9's.

  • excellent work!

  • Dude, this is awesome. Personally I liked the first part better (you could've find better action scenes from the show I believe) but stillt you've done great!

  • Personally, I think LaurxRO is full of it. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

    =)

  • crap, crap, crap.

  • @LauxRO

    Why is it crap?

  • @LauxRO

Ok well I tried to make it in the style of BSG I thought it looked pretty good. But I would love to see a better one :D

  • @LauxRO

I did not made this with Sony Vegas but with Adobe.

And as for the link, you can just buy Sony Vegas in the stores

  • @LauxRO

You did not hurt my ego I was just curious about how you think it should look like.

I just wanna learn. That's all.

  • oh, so i misunderstood. i apologize. i took it to the personal in first hand. sorry. if that is the case, i suggest you grabin an orchestra music, try to place some images of the crew in action, and some warp effects, and stuff runing, then end with a explosion, or a warp, or even a picture of the whole crew.

  • @LauxRO

Thank you for the tips/advice :D This is more helpful then the crap crap thing. Now I can improve myself, thank you :D

    And Merry Christmas!

  • I really like star trek, but i believe BSG is way better the star trek as a series

  • Its interesting. Rodenberry lost his edge between the old series and TMP. Babaylon5 and and New BSG pushed the limits that TNG should of but didn't.

  • Very well edited. Nicely done.

  • That was Great.

    Fits Perfectly

  • Oh this makes me happy.

  • haha... I love it...absolutely love it!...

  • This is cool...

  • Just about perfect for what it was.

  • That is really good.

  • Need to see a version of this for Star Trek: Enterprise.

  • Now THAT was spectacular! Keep doing stuff like this!

  • OMG that was great

  • Cool idea. Good job!

  • lol that vid was awesome

  • The " Caretaker " in the 1st few seconds looked like the Cylon colony ship in " Daybreak Pt. II " of BSG. ALMOST.

  • This is AWESOME!! Reminds me why I love Voyager so much, and why it is by far the best Star Trek series...

  • That was good. Nice job.

  • The concept of both shows are alike.

Except there were no Cylons in Star Trek Voyager (unless the Borg count).

  • That's actually quite good. Awesome job dude!

  • Looks amazing. Great Job, a 5 stars job ;)

  • hey that pretty good

  • Awesome cuts of Voyager footage!

  • Well done!

  • this is great man/girl!!!

  • Nice editing.

  • lol

  • That's really cool!!! :)

  • Good work. Personally I think that you should have used clips from other stories in the beginning other than from Caretaker, but it is still a great video!

  • Thank very much you!

The reason that I choose to only use Caretaker in the beginning is because I wanted to show how they got lost.

  • AH I see where your coming from now.

  • The creator gets 1,000 internets for including a shot of Paris crying and sliding down a wall. Clearly a BSG fan.

  • nice n' atmospheric =)

  • Wow That one of the best outlays i ever seen, AVERSOME!

  • This is fuckin' brilliant

  • SWEET!!

  • brilliant!

  • matches the galactica theme text

  • When it first aired I was expecting them to keep a running population the way BSG did years later. But Voyager didn't, and they had lots of red shrits, and I don't think anyone made it back mathematically :P

  • SpectralSpiral:

Ah.... a survivor count for Voyager would've made sense, even though you were dealing with only a few hundred people on 1 ship, as opposed to several hundred thousand people across a rather large fleet in BSG.

  • Nice job!

  • Nice job, 5/5 Stars, instant fav

  • Pfft.

Voyager wishes it could have been as good as Battlestar. DS9 was the best Trek series, Voyager was horrendous and unrealistic. Trapped thousands of light-years from the safety of Federation space, the ship would be battered, not shiny and clean in every episode. They'd be at each other's throats, on emergency rations, the ship would be scarred and damaged and I'm sure a lot of the crew would be dead. Voyager should be remade.

    Voyager blows.

  • DS9 4EVA!

  • BSG is probably my favorite thing ever on television but I also loved Voyager. Yes they both had spaceships but they couldn't be further apart in style, genre, feel. It's like comparing apples to potatoes. So don't be such a sreaming geek, lol

  • I would agree with some of what you said in that i think over the seasons maybe they should have showed some wear and tear on voyager but you gotta admit they have replication technology along with otrher adavnaced tech which allows for faster and easier repairs to the ship i still think BSG and voyager are pretty good for different reasons.

  • Apples and Oranges mate. The Star Trek universe is governed by the idea that are thousands and thousands of alien civilizations all at different stages of development, some behind humans, some ahead. So it was reasonable that they would find help and repair on their journey. BSG's universe is the complete opposite. Plus Graeme is spot on about the differences in tech, Warp, Replicators all this would have done wonders for BSG. Apples and oranges mate, and some of us prefer a good fruit salad :)

  • Yeah, plus the Star Trek universe - to reiterate ( ? ) - is full of different civilizations throughout the galaxy, & the Colonial humans in BSG are pretty much alone. No other human colonies save Earth, & no non - human races.

    1 thing - Isn't FTL almost like warp ?

  • Actually, FTL is faster then warp, time wise that is. The FTL is an instantaneous mode of travel, whereas Warp is a continuous travel mode. But, without any point of reference from BSG, it's hard to determine.

  • FTL is the only instance of a possibly unrealistic (?) truly fictional mode of space travel in BSG. Everything else depends upon Newtonian, Einstein - ian physics, unlike the Star Trek universe.

I'm going to see if they have Caprica at my local video store.

  • FTL does have a range limit as well as cool down/charge up times, so it would be difficult to determine whether one would be faster without knowing the range limit of FTL jumps .

  • Yup. I'm not sure though that FTL is necessarily too far fetched; it's just that they don't delve too deeply into the science behind it, even if that science is quasi-fictional like in Star Trek.

Of course, both are fictional; but I believe they both work on a "warping" principle - what if you could warp space? Impulse drive in ST is only good at sublight speeds. What if you can't go faster than light; but you can make your destination come to you? Make two dots on a paper, and fold it - warp.

  • Awesome video, awesome shows.

  • Cant feel any love for STVoyager but I loved this combo. Enfin, Voyager was a dissapointment in my opinion. DS9 rules Janeway.

  • THat was excellent. Every piece fit exactly. Voyager even had what you neede- "141 survivors", Looking for "Earth". Made it look a lot more action packed and intense than it really was.)

  • No fan-made intro can undo the fact that Voyager neutered the Borg.

  • borg were op anyway, needed the nerf stick.

  • Of course they were overpowered, that was the bloody point, ffs. Not everything needs to be manageable in a fictional universe.

The Voyager writers could have created a lesser cybernetic offshoot to contribute to the over-all mythology surrounding the Borg. It's called creative writing.

  • you totaly fell for that one, lol.

  • If with 'fell' you mean crushed every bone in your body.. err, remark.

  • You fell for a simple borg trolling, got into fanboynerd rage and that kinda emasculates you on the internet.

  • Except for the fact that I'm not a Star Trek fanboy, of any sort. I just like to incessantly criticize primetime television shows that are obvious failures.

Also, gender doesn't apply to the internet, and once again there goes your 'argument'. (We both know that you're a Trekkie, hopelessly in love with Janeway's gravelly 'I-smoke-six-packs-a-day' voice.)

  • you yet again fell for random trolling.

  • Bringing to the fore that you simply can not live without external validation, from net-based entities such as myself.

  • Hear freaking hear.

  • That was awesome!

  • Seven of nine is a Cylon...?

  • Haha this is great. Very creative.

  • I love your alternate openings! They work really wonderfully. Could have been more in sync with the characters to match their names but all in all a very great job. :)

  • awesome, Voyager and BSG have alot in common

  • SCHIT-TER-END

  • That was awesome and very well done. Great switch up.

  • Wow that made Voyager seem way cooler then it really was. Great Job!

  • ha! My thoughts exactly.

  • Nicely done! 5 stars

  • Oh my god...this is awesome!!!!

  • awesome!!

    xxx

  • Clips and credits could maybe have synced up a bit more- such as maybe including a picture of Harry when Garret Wang's name appears-, but the concept is a VERY interesting bit of work.

  • That's not fair, this clip made Voyager to look far more awesome than it actually is.

  • awsome. its really good i think that the footage goes perfectly with the music

  • this video went very well with the song synced and all nice

  • This is cool, that music always makes a shiver go down my spine

  • agreed that horn always gets me woh then that clah clonk you know the clah clonk then boom hah

  • nice job

  • AWSOME!!!

  • Very very well made : )

  • What program did you use for this? The text is excellent, especially at the end!! :D

  • Thanks, I used Adobe After Effects you can read that in the video description.

    Greetings,

    Ilona

  • I liked that...

  • That was actually pretty cool and well made.

Too bad Voyager played it safe and became TNG-lite instead of grittier and hardcore. It had the potential to, what with being so far away from the UFP the crew could've been shown unraveling and becoming less Federation-ish as the year went on as they fought to survive. That would've been fascinating to watch as the show went on.

    Damn Voyager's 'reset' button!

  • That's why Ron D Moore had had enough and quit.

  • *BRILLIANT*.

  • omg that was sooooo awesome!!!!

  • Okay, that was one of the best things I've seen on youtube in quite a long time. Great editing! I've never been a Voyager fan, but damn if this doesn't make me wish I were!

  • Bloempje721 back again ! you are the best :) Diserve to get a captains rank :p

  • Superrrrr .. !!

    mooi gemaakt.. :D

  • That's great like all your other alternate openings as well.

    Really, really awesome!!

  • wow wow wow! my two favourite series in one! Love it, love it, love it!

  • So very nice!

  • Nice video bloempje721 your the best !!!

  • this is another amazing video uve made i really love ur alternate opening for voyager there incredible make more soon

  • Quality work! BSG is king! Voyager had such potential and they p#ssed it all away.

  • Oh I really love your alternate openings for Voyager. Is it possible that you make an opening for the Doctor (I know you already have one) but with the Monk - theme?! That would be really great. Just if you want ;-)

    Hugs July

  • Thank you!

I wanted to do another Doctor video but I couldn't find the right music for it. But turning it in a opening video with the Monk theme sounds really great. I'm going to give it a try!

    Thank you very much!

    Hugs!
