Dont Be Fooled I just had auto glass out to fix my wind screen at work, because it was slightly bigger than a £2 coin he couldnt fix it and It depend on your insurance if you pay the excess even if he/she does fix it !! I was told that because I was with direct line I would have to pay £10 for the fix

If a windscreen is chipped we will always try to repair it first. If that's not possible then we replace it.

And, that's exactly what your girlfriend's going to have to do - get a replacement.

As it's not a car window it won't be covered by your motor insurance policy even if you have glass damage cover. Neither is pet insurance likely to cover it. How about checking the small print of your home contents policy...

Here in the USA, it's "Safelite repair, Safelite replace" with a near-identical storyline and the same musical jingle. But the technician's name in the States is "Erik from Safelite", and Safelite has a different logo.

Not surprisingly, Belron owns both Safelite in the US and Autoglass in the UK.
