someone must have said to the band, " give us 5 minutes of your time, and we'll do the rest". these days, anyone with a pc could make a better video-- I would have synched some concert shots and tossed in a video babe or two. Even a Robert Palmer-"addicted to Love" copycat video would have been better
Good god. Much as I like DP's music (even of that decade), I gotta say that this video contains absolutely everything that was wrong with that godforsaken era. We actually DID need you, Ian!
check out 3:18 Saddam Hussain didn't get the job and took his anger out on Kuwait three years later. Deep Purple don't do Video's? That's probably for the best. BTW I'd actually forgotten how good this song was.
Sarcasm with a capital "S", great to see the reformed Purple's contempt for the "Selling Soap" approach to music. Pretty accurate portrayal of the creative process and level of band participation that went into most videos of 1980's. Thank You MTV for the great artistic direction you took music in. How did we ever survive without you?
Bought "House Of Blue Light" today & "Call of the wild" is proberly my favourite track on it...Gillan's laughter is quite freaky(Similar to Speed King) but how can you not love love love Ian Gillan x
I didn't know yet that Purple's got other videos beside "King of Dreams". But it's quite boring after all. I think the bad relationchip between Blackmore and Gillan was a reason for this uninspired music in their late phase.
Gillan left the band after this video, not Blackmore. Blackmore tried to recreate the early 80's Rainbow lineup under the Deep Purple name which was a disaster.
Blackmore not only left Deep Purple, he left rock music. He found the happiness that eluded him all these years after he left rock music.
great song, great song writing, great performance, lame video

I actually love this song, it's very catchy. So what if it isn't hard rock like their past 5 albums? Doesn't mean it isn't any good.

This song is by the original Mark II lineup, the exact same people who made In Rock and Machine Head.
