I like this song indeed. Also, I keep repeating myself, but... if you wanna hear FG on FIRE, check out his 'Made In Australia' album. Perhaps you need to get used to his sound on that album, but once you do, it's AWESOME. I think there's stuff uploaded on youtube as well.
Never never tired to hear this piece, I can hear thousand times, just because in his music is including everythings: speed, ritme, melody harmony in the sequences of chords, mind of creating Nobel Music, moving in according of feeling music...thanks Frank, Grazie Franco, sei grande, Dio ti benedica!!!!
boy i repeat , you have to study well the history: exile is when you are sended ,in this case from the english troups, because he wanted take the place of the queen of England,..in the isle of Elba he went by himself for to escape from french peoples `cause they wanted finishing him, so are two different things. In reality Napoleone was sended in a isle of Ogigia Mediterraneo sea,but from history clear explanation was Sant´Elena.
@stratofrivo You are so correct. I hate it when I am asked who I think the best guitarist in the world is. I am a Nashville session guy. I play all styles. I was influenced by Brent Mason who is incredible as well. But when I am asked who is the best guitarist in the world. As I was on CMT one day. They expected me giving a Nashville answer, Brent, Johnny Highland, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley etc.. To be humble. Or Hendrix, Vaughn. I smiled and said Frank Gambale hands down. Huh? He said. Lol
@mouthofacowboy my dear friend that island where Napoleone Bonaparte went was Sant' Elena and not Isola d'elba, isola d'elba if you don't know it I raccomanded, it's wondeful like this piece of music !
@mouthofacowboy my dear friend that island where Napoleone Bonaparte went was Sant' Elena and not Isola d'elba, isola d'elba if you don't know it I raccomanded, it's wondeful like this piece of music, and is located just outside of Toscana region in Italy.
@MrGianc As I said earlier, Elba was where he was exiled the first time. Helena was his second place of exile, as seen on this third paragraph on the Wiki page. I could find other sources if you don't trust Wikipedia, but I would recommend researching it for yourself before attempting to correct me. Thank you, friend.
Great choices, all of them. Though he's a great guitarist, I would replace Kiko with Al DiMeola - definitely three guys that came up at the same time. DiMeola for the alternate picking, Holdsworth for the legato, and Gambale for the economy picking.
I play guitar for very long time, when I hear Frank I can say He is the best,he is the Master.I enjoy to play and follow him, it's not always easy, this man have been playing day and night for to reach this level, that's mean he has only one thing inside...Lovexmusic!!! Please listen also Pino Daniele(singer too) on youtube, let me know what do you think!!! Take care!
I think that it's so great that you can tell just by looking at them how incredibly connected with their instrument they are. They're having so much fun and being really fucking bad ass at it at the same time. This stuff makes life worth living lol
YOU know IT is like the philosophers have said ..,there is two mode of life ..to have or to be...that`s why most jazz musicians are not so wellknown nevertheless they are so great musicians
Frank had the pick cupped up to 2:30 when it appears. Amazing!

This is so Holdsworth! I like Gamebale in that he can create that fusiony, ambient sound and still be melodic in his improvisation.

yeah, but i think this is more groove oriented music... i love holdsworth, but this locks really well
