  • This is good but I don't think this is the girl that playing on broadway now

  • Hi @FONZIE2323, The new Arachne on Broadway is played by Christina Sajous.

  • I am in Awe at the singing and set!

  • Great performance from T.V. Carpio, still itching to see a video of 'Behold and Wonder'!

  • I love this song :) I went to go see the musical for a school trip, but I seem to be the only one who lolled it..... I want to see again so badly! I hope they put it on DVD I would watch it all the time :)

  • sounded better when i went on friday...

  • i know it sounds better in person because i went there for my birthday lol

  • it sounds much better in person.

  • @MrJustin4100 I know right? And it feels A LOT more emotional too.

  • for me this show is all about TV Caprio. All her numbers were the top moments of the show, specially "Turn Off the Dark" scene. Perfection and a whole new dimension of musical theatre were achieved in this scene (cast, music, set, sound, light, special effects). Bravo!

  • open you eyes uu-UHUUuh-UUUUuuuP I love that part.

  • ok....sooooooo..... am i THE ONLY one thinking it? WHAT THE FUCK!?!??!?!

  • BEST SONG EVER

  • lol was I the only one who thought that this was deftones the first time I heard it?

  • this gives me the chills

  • I remember seeing this 2 months ago and I remember this song especially since it's VERY emotional!!! (Can't say why or it'll run a big part of the show) It's so beautiful also.

  • Hes hot

  • I'm learning how to sing like him and the guy from Linkin Park^^ I mean I will never be as good as them XD but hopefully close^^

  • youtube is so gayy it lags on my computer

  • @bobbyjl13 get a better computer

  • @bobbyjl13 lol nvm it was cause my enternet went off lol

  • I can't wait to see this. What a beautiful song!

  • @Chwhit100 I already saw it

  • am i the only one who thinks of prudence whenever i see tv caprio?

  • @coffinboy65 I hope they do make a DVD of this! That would be awesome!Yeah I don't live in NY either I live in California so there's no way u can go see this in NY!I hope they release it on DVD cause I will buy it for sure and probably watch it on repeat!lol:3

  • when I saw this it was two under studies playing Spidey and Arachne "Matthew James Thomas" and "Jodi Mcfadden" They were both so amazing

  • I love this song so much<3 I can listen to it over and over again without getting tired of it!!

  • Love this song!

  • dude will this ever be on DVD????? cus if so where could i buy it i live nowhere near new york

  • love it! I even saw the play

  • this neat that rock star singing on broway

  • i really really really want to see this play! the song this song amazes me

  • saw the show in July! this scene gave me crazy chills. T.V. Carpio's voice its amazing and shes a sweetheart!!!!

  • ugh spiders creep me out

  • You know what's amazing? I heard this on the radio today.

  • He has a beautiful voice. It's like he's crying.

  • wow, T.V Carpio might just have cured my arachnophobia

  • I think about the the cast and crew of "Spider-man Turn Off The Dark" everyday. Truly talented and very kind! Made me feel right at home every time I have seen this AMAZING show!!!! Super Laundry Bag (Super Hero For The Arts).

  • WHAT TERRIBLE SINGING! surely this is NOT Broadway Standard!

  • @anthonyhenrysmith Who are you to judge? There are 3 main types of singing you see on stage, Character (Angela Lansbury in Sweeney Todd and Andrew Rannells in Book of Mormon are good examples) Classical (Opera, choir, musicals like Sister Act, Gospel music) and there's rock and country (which just depends on the individual singing) in this case they have rock music in a musical so they have more of a gravelly tone that some may not appreciate this stylle but it does fit this musical well.

  • @anthonyhenrysmith How can you say she has a bad voice? I think it's beautiful.

  • @Awwshitcunt I think he does in one of the videos I saw him dangling.

  • Hot Hot Hot.

  • shouldn't Peter rise up into the web with her during the song and 'dangle'? It seems like it would be more interesting that way.

  • phenomenal quality

  • i have 2 use this song as my audition song 4 the school musical next year!

  • T.V. Caprio has an amazing voice

  • the quality of this video is amazing

  • I know the woman who plays the spider

  • @markncheese personally or are you gonna tell us she's KIm Dayton who used to be with the Sneaker Pimps

  • @markncheese she is phenomenal the only reason why i even bough her songs on itunes from the show

  • @markncheese nice! tell her i said hi jk

  • the powers he has been giving are incredible things at that with them he can indeed rise above.

Now I hope that answers everyones questions about why Arachne is singing. And really guys this show is absolutely wonderful. Its one of my favorites. When I saw it, it moved me. It isnt just about super powers. Honestly you have to see that show to understand how amazing it is.

  • angry at himself, saying that if he wouldve been home instead of the wrestling tournament that he could have stopped this from happening because of his superpowers. The song playing now is Rise Above, and Peter sings about what his uncle tought him, and decides he will now use his powers to save people since he couldnt save his uncle. The reason Arachne (the spider) is shown here singing is because she is sort of now like a spirit within Peter (since he was bit by the spider) telling him that

  • that u have to get the car to get the girl. He then tells his uncle this and his uncle says that he will start saving up money to buy Peter a car, Peter then sees a poster for a wrestling tournament and the winner wins $1000. Peter then tells his uncle that he will earn the money himself. Peter goes to the wrestling match, wins, then comes back home to find his uncle dead, appearently his uncles car was getting stolen, and he ried to stop the man but he ended up killing him. Peter then gets

  • Okay, here are some spoilers so watch out. The spider is Arachne ( look up the story of Arachne and Athena if u dont understand). At the begining of the show Peter is giving a Science report on this story. Later on, Peter and his class go to Dr Normans lab and a radioactive super spider that Dr Norman has been working years on escapes and bites Peter. Any way long story short Peter wakes up n has super powers, then he sees Mary Jane riding in a car with one of the bullies and Peter thinks

  • Ok wait, what's the point of the woman dressed as a spider in the song again? From 0:01 to 0:26 is the best part of the song:)

  • @findyourtwilight123

I'm assuming she is the spider who bites him. Thus turning him into spider-man.

  • @requiem417 No she's arachne..there is an ancient greek myth about her and athena.

  • Haaaaaaaaaaaa

  • To those who hate the spider: Ummmmm, say that spider wasn't actually giant. They make it that way so people in the back can see her. Plus, this is probably the spider that bit Peter. She is telling peter that she has bitten him and given him his power for a reason and that he needs to find his true purpose in life. That's just what I think. I think it's awesome. She's a good singer too. P.S. She is telling him the meaning of the colors e wears and that he should stop them from being colors of

  • @embarandshadowlegend society.

  • i actually kind of like the arachne character, just cuz the original story doesn't really last that long. "With Great power comes great responsibility can only last you so long... you need to have some backstory. but i agree it could have been interpreted better.

  • Why must there be musicals of EVERYTHING these days?

  • @CCRockit ikr 1st shrek now this whats next toy story? batman?

  • @Trent3562

Oh please, lets all beg to God not Toy Story or Batman.......

  • @CCRockit there aren't musicals of "everything", actually. So don't say there is.

In fact, about 80% of the musicals on Broadway right now are original, new musicals.

There's maybe five or a little more musicals that were created from something not originally a musical (Legally Blonde, Shrek, Spiderman, the Addams Family.. that's all I can think of.)

    So you call that everything?

And usually the musical adaptations create a whole new view and age for the material. I.E. The Addams Family.

  • @LeLAOve ok, that's a fallacy. The only original musicals that integrate an original plot along with an original score are the book of morman and memphis, and memphis sucks.

  • i would have run up there wth a rolled up news paper and hit that spiderbitch in the face for ruining the play

  • It was all good and fine until the huge fucking spider started singing......it went down hill after that....

  • @totaliablond Agreed. Get rid of the Arane character. XD She just detracts from the Spider-man show

  • Batman made 19 people do dislike this!

  • @CRAllain Stupid Batman. He's just a guy in a suit who knows how to use manmade objects in an 'epic way' (yeah right) He doesn't have any supernatural powers! How idiotic. I can't even call him a superhero. That's because he's not! I'm not a hardcore superhero fan here, but I can tell you the heros from the zeros.

  • @CRAllain At least Batman doesn't feature giant singing Bats.

  • The first words were awesomme!!

  • TV Carpio?

  • Fav song

  • They should just film the show and sell it on DVD and BlueRay! Then, there wouldn't be so many accidents :D

  • i love this song. and i love reeve carney. <3

  • Honestly, this is my favorite clip of the song on youtube.

  • The only thing I can complain about with this show... is my only honest complaint.

I went to New York back in March when this was supposed to open. I was a little excited to see the opening to this and guess what? Canceled of course. I was pissed off, who wouldn't be?

  • There are SOOO many broadway shows that are way better than this trash. Go see something else.

  • t.v. caprio=EARGASMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this show is actually quite entertaining... in all the wrong ways, though

  • It so should have been Madam Web singing to him, telling us that she has foreseen him becoming a hero.

  • @k87jury

Agreed. Madame Web has such an influence on Peter with her visions and advice. It would also give a character with such physical weakness a more emotional impact on the audience. I mean, she's blind, elderly, and nearly immobile. Hearing her belt and use her voice would be epic.

  • is that the spider who bit him is singing to him? if it is... well, it even sounds stupid to begin with.

  • @ldrockstar69 ....No its not. She's the villainess of the show, Arachne:)

  • does broadway have to turn everything into a homosexual musical?

  • @bestest87 That's terrible. Don't talk like that.

  • SEEN IT TWICE. SEEING IT AGAIN IN JUNE. HATERS GONNA HATE.

  • Comment removed

  • god this show sucks

  • fuck why?!?!???

  • its this Matthew James or Reeve????

  • MichaelMaximus Seasung and futureismetal Think its terrible because they all dont

KNOW THE FRIKKEN POINT OF THE FRIKKEN SONG!

  • As a New Yorker I've been going to Broadway since 1987. I've seen them all, good ones and bad ones. Without question Spiderman Turn off the Dark is the worst production that has EVER graced Broadway. Diehard New York theater attendees have seen it once. The only people wasting their money on this show now are tourist. Shameful as it is because there are so many wonderful productions going on right now to be seen. Instead of seeing one terrible show take the money and see two GREAT ones.

  • i'm surprised the comments are not disabled on this shitty video that has nothing to do with spider man. TERRIBLE

  • this is dumb

  • wtf

  • Have they finally found a way to stop their cast from falling into the audience while on the wires?

  • that guy looks like jeff buckley

  • Awesomest Fail Ever!!

  • Way better than the new Spidey reboot movie!

  • IM in the uk and i really wanna see this its killing me!!!! HOW!!!

  • So, I guess people stopped dying now?

  • Wow I can't believe people with such crappy voices are performing on Broadway. Especially the woman; her voice sucks.

  • woah that guy is sexxxyyyyy!!!! haha

  • his voice is so....yes....and the spiderwoman kinda scares me....but i like her voice too

  • 62 Million Dollars for millions of lawsuits for injuries...62 Millions that probably can't probably not be given back....I liked spiderman better when he was kicking butt, and not singing his heart out.....It is just mind clowing of how many lawsuits have been filed...or soon to be...Yikes...

  • @AngelPearProduction Spiderman doesn't sing dummy...Peter parker does...you didn't obviously didn't see the show you have no clue what you're talking about.

  • @wolfennyc ok...sorry?

  • isn't this show like from the ninties?

  • Thank you Bono for producing this show. I know 62Mil is alot of money but this story is one of my favorite stories since growing up and the Edge's music is just awesome! I can't wait to see this on DVD. NYC is a bit too far from me.

  • who wants to bet that at somepoint during a performance Madam spider will fall from faulty wires

  • saw this show last night!! didnt expect to love it as much as i did!! not really a "superhero fan", but spiderman 2.0 blew me away!!

  • @wackeal I saw it to! Wasn't it AMAZING!?

  • @FloatingAboveClouds dont wanna spoil anything for people who havent seen it yet, but that last scene was worth the price of admission!!!n for anyone out there who was skeptical about a superhero musical, take it from me: u will definately not regret watching this show!!! absolutely amazing. there were even some songs (like "if the world should end") where u even forget that this is a superhero thing. such a beautiful song and moment!! go see it!!!

  • wow..... im speachless.... and he is cute!!!

  • T.V. Carpio, who's playing Arachne here, injured her neck during a performance on the same day this video was uploaded. She is a replacement for Natalie Mendoza, who suffered a concussion during the first preview performance. I hope this show is injury-free when it reopens.

  • @bmh4d0k3n it's been injury free since the beginning of this year...you're talking about stuff that happened in Nov and Dec. 2010...get with the program and stop recycling old news

  • @wolfennyc @wolfennyc Umm ... no, I'm really not. T.V. Carpio WAS injured in March of this year. The other four injuries did happen last year, but this one is more recent. Check out artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/03/22/another-spider-man-actress-injured/ . She's number five.

  • Peter Parker looks like a Twilight reject.

  • @Athel554 He is hot. I like his voice a lot. Very sexy guy.

  • Spidey 2.0 rocks!!!!!!!! Don't listen to the negative reviews!! Story line and aerial stunts are even more incredible. Rest assured, the "Spider-man Curse" has been reversed! Professionally, Super Laundry Bag (Offical Guardian Angel/PR/Guest Relations)

  • I WANT A U2 RECORDING ALBUM NOW!!!!

  • This song makes my body tingle.

  • THIS IS THE BEST SHOW ON BROADWAY!!! IT WAS WORTH EVERY CENT!!! OMG I WISH THEY RELEASE AN ALBUM!!!

  • When I heard this in NYC it spoke to me

  • I love this musical :D it was SOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!

  • IS THAT MADAME WEB!!!!!

  • @Sonicdude20th No, because that would require actually reading a comic book, that is Arachne a greek goddess who in the the play is the one who gives spider-man his powers. Yeah...

  • @RoaaEStern its T.V. Carpio

  • who is the woman in the spider costume thing

  • I just love the raw edgeyness of their voices. It's amazing in context of the show!

  • @JamesF153 You're only half-right, James; but, thanks for playing. The correct response also includes "weak voices".

  • I like this song. :)

  • I want more!!!!

  • beautiful.

  • I love this show! My new favourite!

  • Spider-man Turn Off The Dark is amazing!!!! It goes "where no Broadway musical has gone before!!!"

  • This is disgusting. This entire show goes against what the true Broadway greats like Rodgers & Hammerstein, Sondheim, and Kander & Ebb worked so hard to build, so theatre could be the art form that it is today. But now this piece of garbage comes along and causes the media to finally give Broadway some publicity, but for all the wrong reasons. This is wrong on so many levels.

  • @MiniMissMenzel what do u mean?!?!? the play rocks!! u just need to chill and not b so harsh and b a jerk to ppl. the actors worked rlly hard to get this far. it isn't their fault that there were accidents. so just leave it alone and drop it.

  • @courtneygurlrox18 Guess what? I'm expressing my opinion. You have every right to express yours, just as I have every single right to express mine. This is not a quality piece of musical theatre. I'm not knocking the actors at ALL (who ever said I was?!). I love Jennifer Damiano, and even Reeve Carney is okay. I even have a friend in the ensemble. This trainwreck of a show was caused by the creative team. Julie Taymor, Bono, the Edge, the producers, etc. are responsible for this terrible show.

  • @MiniMissMenzel agreed. but what is it you like about damiano. i just don't get it with her.

  • @soukkiy It's funny, I'm not quite sure what exactly I like about Jennifer. Her voice is mediocre at best, and her acting is so-so (but it's hard to tell, having only seen her in Next to Normal). But I love N2N, and I love how all of the actors and the creatives worked so hard together to create a truly magical piece of theatre (unlike another musical playing at the Foxwoods Theatre.). So I suppose I love her simply because she played Natalie. I'm not a Jenn fangirl, but I respect her work.

  • @MiniMissMenzel "Unlike another musical playing the Foxwoods"? What do you mean by this? A previous tenant in that theatre? What show are we talking about? Don't be hasty...there are a couple dead wrong answers.

  • I WANT A CAST RECORDING ALBUM NOW!!!!

  • @hiblinist916 when will there be one?

  • @hiblinist916 It's on pre sale now and Rise Above is going on sale today.

  • @hiblinist916 Me too, i've been wanting to see the carnage part

  • @hiblinist916 Head to your local music store on Tuesday June 14. I think you'll find one.

  • @CasimusxPrime WEEEEEEEEEEE! THAT'S TODAY! wait. what are you talking about?

  • @embarandshadowlegend A soundtrack came out. It features all the songs from the show. It's on iTunes and Amazon for $10.

  • Absolutely nothing compares to seeing this show on stage. Video can't capture how amazing the stage/sets are.

Saw it earlier this month and loved it! The cast members were all talented and super nice!

Hoping to see it again after the changes have been made. I think they'll all be for the best!

  • I saw it four times.. it had changed a little each time getting better and better each time! I really want to see it again and can't wait for the sound track to come out!

  • Looks great! Heard this song on David Letterman about two weeks ago, and I still can't get it out of my head. Hope to see the show this year!

  • Looking forward to seeing it!!!!

  • Holy crap madam web !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @andymanportillo Arachne actually. :)

  • Saw this show twice!! First time, it was the night that Chris Tierney fell. SCARIEST THING EVER. We got a refund and saw it again, and it was amazing. I met these guys, Jenn Damiano, and a few others @ the stage door. IT WAS GREAT.

  • @paintstuff240 LUCKY!!!

  • This is Carney right?

  • The show rocks. I've seen it twice and I would see it again with the "changes ".

  • @josep226 i saw it once like friday and i want to just watch it over and over again it was so good!!! BUT im from iowa and cant just drive 24 hours to new york to watch it again:(

  • @bean14ish ikr! the play rox!

  • So cool! By far the best musicals I know were despised in the beginning by the overly-critical. Les Mis, LOTR Musical, and now Turn Off the Dark.
