In watching this again, I think ebf1957 is correct and it could be a sequel of sorts where the governess returns for some reason. Let's hope it's not for the same reason as in the craptastic sequel called, Miles and Flora.
@ebf1957 hmmm yes but I'm almost positive this is SUPPOSED to be another variation...doesn't quite work out. Looks like something I'd sit there and make fun of. hehe
doesn't look like something I would like. I prefer the versions that stay as close as possible to the original story. When is this coming out? And, TOTSenthusiast, I always meant to ask - which is YOUR favorite movie version?
@Dix994 I'm not sure when this is coming out but I will let you know. And my favorite version is The Innocents (hands down) with the Bergman version/92 versions in a close second...followed by the Jodhi May version.
I kept expecting to see leering ghosts or pools of blood...or an axe-murderer...demonic children, maybe...although I can relate to the horror of a table overrun with...ANTS!!! OMG!!! The HORROR of an ANT infestation!
From this trailer I don't have a clue what the movie is about, except a woman traveling to the West Coast and meeting a cute guy and a woman with some kind of foreign accent, in a beautiful mansion.
@TOTSenthusiast , Maybe the director of this film is possessed by Ed Wood! Now there's a new twist! We don't need no Peter Quint, we got plenty of trouble already, without his piffling little perversions. You betcha.
This is like every bad trailer you'd ever come across that starts out with..."In a world where...." Does anyone else expect to see some kind of Armageddon?
@TOTSenthusiast , Truly, I don't know what to expect judging by that lame-o trailer. I'd be surprised, though, if we got a really-for-real, honestly enjoyable movie with a plot and characterization and everything. I won't hold my breath.
I think I know what this is... A no budget video flick made the same guy who directed "Crazy Fat Ethel 2."

When watching this I thought this was a version where a grown up Flora returns to Villa Bly.

Have you seen the awful one with lesbian fanservice yet?
I doubt this one can be much worse than that.

@MorroccoSurrogate You mean the one better known as "In a Dark Place?" Unfortunately yes... hahaha *shakes head*

Well, we've had a lot of nice adaptations...this may not be a very faithful version of "James'" novel...but it still looks decent.

so....are the scriptwriters not keeping true to the original story in this? What are ants all about?

@dougalina123 I think all of us are asking the same question.

With ANTS.

@GuinnevereB LMAO @ with ANTS! Actually I think the woman with the foreign accent was also her but I can't be sure.

The house looks cool but the story is way off and I would have liked to see the kids.

oooh I know! This is supposed to be a sequel. Let's hope the screenwriter/director isn't basing any of it on Bailey's Miles and Flora! *face/palm*
