hay do you live in queens ?? i would love for you to do maintience on my dreads i would pay you??? hope you live around me i live in the hamptoms long island!!!
@hippigirlful Maybe there's someone near you that will do it?? There must be, I'm not sure how to go about doing that... maybe asking some hair salons?
hey there^_^ i use to have very long dreads but, my job made me cutt them:/ anywayz, come check out my channel:) its not a dread channel but i do animation so if ur interested, come onn and visit meh XD nice dreads by the way:)
great video found it really usefull , so i got a question :) so i have had dreads for bout 2 and a half months i have crocheted a couple of times i can feel some of them getting tighter at the roots and i got some that feel really loose from about half way down so i was just wondering if you got any tips for the loose ones x
@jasminerawh Hmm... you can try backcombing them again, starting from where they feel loose to the tip, or do the crochet method (and it helps with the crochet method to push loose hairs up towards the root, then crochet (like in this video)). Also, salt water helps a lot.
Some will just be a little loose on their own, and will get tighter with time. I find that the root where the dread starts to grow out and dread on its own is tighter than the part of dread I made myself. =D
YOURE MY HERO. I'm already using this technique but its always good to have back up when he goes "are they really supposed to look this fluffy?" I use a 1.0 and the only problems I have are when I go too fast and it goes under a fingernail. Ouch. Thanks again for the help (:
Was this video for me?! Lol jk...I'm glad you made it though...has more info than others I've seen. My dreads seem fine...I have to maintain them but I separated them...although I did a major nono...I had to cut some. But it wasn't right at the root...the hairs had length for me to tuck them into the dread :-) hopefully it works out. Also...YOUR dreads motivate me to keep going with mine lol
@KrystleJoy7 Haha I did think about you, and some other friends that had troubles with this :) Ya, sometimes you have to cut them...Yaaaay it's good to have motivation!! I LOVE your artwork, by the way!! ^_^
@lotusblue86 No, not at all! You definitely don't have to be a teenager to get dreadlocks. Actually I know more people that have had dreads in university than in high school. Nah, I think it's just a stereotype with the teenage dread thing. I think dreads look super cool on older people! I saw this woman with gorgeous silver dreads on the bus the other day =D
@heyzorgzilla Wow really? Haha that's awesome! ell here (in my family) they seem to think you can't have dreads if you're over 20 which is silly. More old people should have dreads!!!! Even really old ppl cause they only wash their hair once a week anyway =P
@lukefarr330 lol I edited it so that my voice was talking over my voice already, I didn't know I could do that, so I left it, coool yeah?? Happy New Yeeeaar!! ^_^
@kelleyjane07 Well, it says 1.25 on it, I'm guessing that's millimeters. I found it in with oooold sewing/knitting/crocheting stuff at home :P But yup, you can get them at any craft or department store. I looked up the size chart, and that would be a size "8" in the U.S. :)
