@Xerothe0th theres a good program called Magicbullet Looks that makes it very easy to learn color correction and a lot of presets built in to make these type of hollywood color grades. Color correction and color grading are essentially two different things :) enjoy!

there was no extra light required. the location looked like this. i just added a slight color correction in post production

Most of the bullet holes are from videocopilot dvds.
I made the smoke with after effects, same goes for the debris. It's a mix of Trapcode Particular and the shatter effect.

The camera we used is a SONY (HDV) HDR-FX1E. Composite was done on a mac pro with after effects cs3. The sound effects are from around the web.
