Russians want to separate Moldovans from Romanians,and what can I say they have done a lot.Most of the people from Basarbia,Transnistria and Northen Bucovina which live in Ukraine and Russia consider themselfes Moldovan,however the ones who leave in Romania,Europe and rest of the world consider themselfes Romanians(or Moldovans like not a diferent nations)!

It's normal that in official context Sofia declared that she sings in moldavian language. If she has said she sing in romanian, it was equivalent with a suicide in that period. Even now, for people from Moldova between Prut and Nistru, is an brave act declaring that they are romanians, being too close by the ex-Russian Empire ;)

Sofia Rotaru has always said she sings in Moldavian language. It is also written on all of her albums, both released in USSR and in Germany, Finland, Canada and USA.
She had to say Moldovian because that was the official politics back then. If she would have said "Romanian" she were banned from singing. Since she was smart, she went along with the official version.

I've been there also last summer and all the citys and villages names are wrotten in ukranian language and in romanian language.And the most part of the peole,almost all of them speak romanian.
If you go to Ukrain in our day,on the romanian(moldovian)part you'll here the people speaking the romanian language and also,everywere,everithing is wrotten in two languages,ukrain language(because it's part of Ukrain now)and romanian language(because the people from there are romanian).

In 1918 was the 3rdunification of the romanian states Valahia(Romania),Transilvania and Moldova,so this 3 states became Romania Mare(The Big Romania),so we can say that Sofia Rotaru was born on the romanian-moldavian part,that after the Second Mondial War.But all we,from are romanian people.

@BabkaParaska well let me tell you a simple thing BP., there's absolutely no difference between Romanian and Moldavian. It's just on the last term used to be insisted as a political issue by the USSR, to kind of prove no belongingness of the former RSSM to Romania. It's still a probl. in the RM, where lots of people remain confused about it. I moved from Moldova to Romania and found abs. no difficulties with the language, it was like moving btw two cities in Moldova. I appr. your channel though!

Frumos. Suruceanu, in tinerete, poreclit "Dan Spataru basarabean". Sofia Rotaru, tanara si frumoasa, cu o voce profunda, o bucovineanca sadea. Pacat ca, azi, ambii sunt mult prea rusificati (invinsi de timpul mincinos), ca sa poata readuce atmosfera de romanism pastrat cu grija (!), pe care au stiut sa o creeze la inceputul vietii lor artistice. Nu toti artistii au si verticalitate, pe langa talent. Ne ramane doar sa-i admiram pentru ceea ce au fost... Doamne, ce ochi are Sofia in acest film!

София родилась в Молдове, выросла в Молдове, ее становление, как певицы, началось именно в Молдове. Она же пела "Хуторяка, девчоночка-смуглянка, девчонка-молдованка...". Правда в том, что у настоящего искусства нет национальности, оно понятно и любимо разными народами. А София Ротару-сокровище, редчайший голос, поет душой. Именно Молдове спасибо за такую певицу!

It's normal that in official context Sofia declared that she sings in moldavian language. If she has said she sing in romanian, it was equivalent with a suicide in that period. Even now, for people from Moldova between Prut and Nistru, is an brave act declaring that they are romanians, being too close by the ex-Russian Empire ;)

For centuries "Moldova" was the land between the Carpati Montains and the Nistru river. The separation that exist today is caused by the ocupation of the territory between rivers Prut and Nistru by the Russian Empire at 1812 and the stalinist red army in 1940.
Small differences of the romanian spoken in the left and the right side of the river Prut is caused by the process of russification, especially after 1940, when many people were deportated in Siberia.

Da ai dreptate nu e vorba de dialectul ci de graiul moldovenesc care impreuna cu graiul muntenesc , oltenesc si ardelenesc formeaza limba romana.Dialectele pot fi chiar foarte diferite de limba literara e cazul dialectului aroman al limbii romane care nu poate fi inteles usor de catre cineva care stie doar romana literara.

It is not even a dialect because sometimes, dialects cannot be understood by other speakers of the same language. It is just an idiom,easy to understand for all Romanians (except for the expressions taken from Russian).

Eu stiu ca nu sunteti colonisti rusi. Am stat cativa ani la Chisinau si am vazut schimbarile care se petreceau sub ochii mei.Sunt convinsa ca va veti redobandi limba si istoria. @BabkaParaska So what? What would you say if you were an artist sponsored by russians or ucrainians? For me, as a Romanian one, it is quite enough I understand Sofia and she understands me. We speak the same language, we belong to the same people, splited up for political reasons. Let's use russians' and ucrainians' money and energy to spread Romanian language! Why not?

@BabkaParaska well let me tell you a simple thing BP., there's absolutely no difference between Romanian and Moldavian. It's just on the last term used to be insisted as a political issue by the USSR, to kind of prove no belongingness of the former RSSM to Romania. It's still a probl. in the RM, where lots of people remain confused about it. I moved from Moldova to Romania and found abs. no difficulties with the language, it was like moving btw two cities in Moldova. I appr. your channel though!

@fericire26 Sorry, but we're not all romanian people. Moldavians are moldavians and romanians are romanians. Brasil had been a portuguese colony for centuries and although their language is portuguese, you can't call a brasilian, portuguese.

Frumos. Suruceanu, in tinerete, poreclit "Dan Spataru basarabean". Sofia Rotaru, tanara si frumoasa, cu o voce profunda, o bucovineanca sadea. Pacat ca, azi, ambii sunt mult prea rusificati (invinsi de timpul mincinos), ca sa poata readuce atmosfera de romanism pastrat cu grija (!), pe care au stiut sa o creeze la inceputul vietii lor artistice. Nu toti artistii au si verticalitate, pe langa talent. Ne ramane doar sa-i admiram pentru ceea ce au fost... Doamne, ce ochi are Sofia in acest film!
