The pastor is simply there to promote his service. He may feel his intentions are good, but he *may* not be properly qualified and impartial enough to really help those with difficulties. This is true of all independent 'help' offered under a religious banner.

Also, reading through some of these comments I never understood why people who are in a relationship feel they can't watch porn. Porn isn't a replacement for sex. The sword in the scripture I quoted is representative for the persecution the Christian will suffer in service to God. We are constantly ridiculed and mocked for our beliefs, as Jesus told us would happen. The sword is to say in more colloquial terms that people feel attacked by the preaching of the gospel and therefore counterattack. This is not meant to be a physical battle, but a spiritual one.

I don't think the real issue is being addressed here. If people are going to coexist in a structured society, then they MUST have obligations toward each other in that they MUST bear responsibility for the art they portray.

There are many other substances that can lead one to destructive behaviors but they can be used responsibly. Lets not take out the responsibility factor here. Also what if the person is ill to begin with? Then it might not be Porn that is affecting the ill person, but the persons own perception of the Porn.

While I believe if ones standing is a religious one, than the scripture should of been better utilized in the debate, but lets not forget that the debate was mostly an intellectual one in a secular institution and to be as objective as possible, it is almost essential to address the issue from a purely moral standing instead of a religious one. To convince the non-religious, it wouldn't be helpful to come off as a preacher trying to spread the word, then his message may of fallen on def ears.
