I'd rather have generic players rather than hall of famers. No disrespect but those guys are over the hill. They should take apf and spend 2 years developing a franchise mode that has trade logic like nba 2k restricted free agency. instead of ratings, there should be 40 times, bench press, IQ, pocket awareness grade, throwing form grade, larger players should be stronger, but less agile, things like that to set you apart from madden,

Tha only thing apf or even nfl 2k through 2k3 was lacking was a franchise mode. If that happens in the next 2k Football game, madden is done.....ghost.

The 2k sports games usually have quality and I'd love to see a NFL2k game again. The ones on Dreamcast, Xbox, and PS2 were great.

I think the only realistic option for 2K to get sales on a football game would be to make either a CFL game and sell it in Canada or make a high school game. Or start with a phone game or something just to sell the idea of a 2k football game.

@LjRoc23 - I agree with you to a certain extent but I believe that the focus should be on customization. If you can make your own teams, players and logos, use them in a franchise and create your own leagues, the possibilities would be endless. You could make your own NFL, CFL, High school or whatever you wanted. On top of that you'd also get that great 2K football gameplay. Imagine that!

@LjRoc23 - (continued) If you need proof that this would be a viable option for 2K; just look at the popularity of Finn's 2K5 editor, Hex Editing for APF 2K8, and the editor for BackBreaker in which users can create their own logos. These options need to be be part of the game, not hacks. People are hungry for a Madden alternative (or replacement for some), we just need someone to create it. Who would be better than 2K?

@IcyRhythms 2ksports isn't going to make video game because a few thousands fans want them to. They're in the business to make money,and an unlicensed game isn't going to sell even if you have total customization. Are they any recent sports games that have sold well without a license ? Just hope the exclusive license isn't renewed. EA seems to not want it or they would have extended it for more than one year last year.

@Dmacho78 It's my opinion that EA only agreed to a one year exclusive extension because they had to in order for the NFL to give them a price cut for M12's licensing fees. The lockout was the only reason EA extended the exclusive license at all last year.

Great video I totally agree with you 2k does need to make a new football game, like others have said before give us the old USFL from the 80's or the CFL and let's not forget about college football or does EA have license to the ncaa also. 2k bring out another college hoops game I'm a big can of your sports games and I love and miss the games from 2k sports. @GlockNinja try playing a PS2 version of Madden 12 and then play the PS3 version and they are night and day and play nothing alike, the ps3 version is way better than the ps2 in game play

I would hope so because as a fan of all sports I play Fifa and NHL and those two games are always top notch each and every year and also you can check any review sites because those 2 games in the past few years have always gotten AAA scores. @2WIREG Correct. FIFA and NHL have been two of the best sports series' this generation. Unfortunately, EA's body of work this generation will continue to judged by the short comings of its flagship title. I agree with you though, I don't believe EA is lazy. Much like lcy was attributing to in the video, Tiburon devs must have a tightly constricted creative window. EA has a winning formula and any drastic gameplay changes (a new gameplay engine) would hurt their bottom line.
