Wow, I haven't heard these cues in ages. The second one, "Sailor Jupiter", was always my favorite. I think the Japanese music got a lot better starting with R, but the music in the first series sounded pretty outdated for a 90s show.
Here's the thing. the music composed by DIC, sounds better and is really good. However the original soundtrack by Arisawa Takanori, is well. . . disasterous. Some tracks are good but the rest sound a little crappy. If anyone wishes to download the OST of sailor moon. Please go to Keiichi Anime Forever.

I think cue 6 is not really Queen Beryl's theme. Queen Beryl's music was played when she killed Zeadite and Zoicite. I think Dic stopped using it after season 1 xD. It sounds creepier than this one

The DiC music is sometimes ill-fitting, particularly in the inner scouts transformation. It sounds like something for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles than four beautiful girls. Even though I grew up with the English, Japanese version does it for me, because it's that much more beautiful and endearing.
I have been looking high and low for a long time for the theme of the Negaverse (Dark Kingdom) and I've found it in Queen Beryls theme. I only hope someone can make a much longer version one day. I remember how awesome it was when Nephlite was making his star crystal.

Both the original and American dub have their strengths. For an American it kinda felt weird hearing a sort of disco theme in the original, but the orchestral themes like the Starlights' were beautiful. Even though the plot would sometimes get skewed in the American dub, I really liked the heroic theme and deep bass in the DiC music. It got you pumped for a battle, while you'd kind of marvel at the Japanese themes' sounds.
Any luck finding the DiC battle cue? The one that plays when the bad guy or the monster pulls their trump card (Nephrite summoning Leo the Lion, or when Rubeus intervenes in that 4 on 4 battle before the song cues up)
I'd like that and the danger cue (episode 10, on the train to the airport to battle Jedite, and the elevator segment in episode 29 I think)
I swear, when we can finally have sailor moon re-air in North America (there's a high chance since it's becoming very popular again in Italy, Hong Kong, etc..) I don't care if they re-dub it, as long as they keep the same music, opening, keep uranus/neptune as a couple, keep their promise they'll dub sailor stars, and keep themselves from editing so much! it was horrible!

I love the DIC music!! It's so much better than the Japanese!! I feel it gives the scenes more depth and you get a better feel for what's going on. With saying that, I still like the Japanese music. My favorite is the Outer Scouts' transformation music!! Now if only that theme could be combined with the DIC music in a dub my life would be complete!! lol

I don't think either the japanese or american versions of the Sailor Moon soundtrack is bad. They both represent each culture quite well and both soundtracks go with the anime. The american is distinct for having a very interesting ambiance to it that gives it a more environmental feel. Either way it's very good, probably the only good thing about the english dub.

I LOVE the dic versions, they're way more catchy and contemporary i think. Of course in the dub version I just discovered recently that if there was music played like the pt. 2 story when at first it was Sailor Moon against the transformed Queen Beryl. The scene would have the dialog with the music plus the lyrics. The original version used the music for dramatic effect to support the scene with its own dramatic conflict of good vs. evil.

In some ways, I can't believe I actually remember these themes. Man does time fly, I remember hearing these themes as a child.
Now I'm more in love with the original, not to mention, beautiful Japanese BGM. The music changes throughout the season unlike DIC that continued using the same over and over.
Even though I grew up loving the English series, it still bring back good memories of when I was hooked on Sailor Moon and that it was my very first anime.
I love the fact that DiC used the same music throughout the seasons because it rocked!!! The music always just made me wanna transform along with them. lol
The thing is though the Japanese music has transformation music and it changes every season not the same in all seasons like Dic, it has many battle music not just about 2 or 3 like Dic, several creepy cues as opposed to Dic which only has a few,plently of magical cues, and happy just hanging out cues much more than Dic has. So your view makes no sense.
What upset me was that they released the background music for "Melvin", but only a few second clip of Tux Mask's?? That's the music I want!!

In some ways, I can't believe I actually remember these themes. Man does time fly, I remember hearing these themes as a child.
Now I'm more in love with the original, not to mention, beautiful Japanese BGM. The music changes throughout the season unlike DIC that continued using the same over and over.
Even though I grew up loving the English series, it still bring back good memories of when I was hooked on Sailor Moon and that it was my very first anime.
But now, I prefer Japanese ^^;;

The thing is though the Japanese music has transformation music and it changes every season not the same in all seasons like Dic, it has many battle music not just about 2 or 3 like Dic, several creepy cues as opposed to Dic which only has a few,plently of magical cues, and happy just hanging out cues much more than Dic has. So your view makes no sense.
