There is nothing irritating than seeing by Next Gen standards ships that shouldn't exist i.e. Excelsior Class anything older than this design Definately NO NO NO! I tried to view what fans considered the top Enterprise episodes, but each time that theme came on I couldn't scramble to mute it or skip it fast enough (streamed via Ntflx). Each time I failed and caught even a little of the theme my ears bled. I have never had such a visceral reaction to anything else before.

@Ramikade if you go by the last episode of enterprise they may have still been in service when the federation started. yes the NX-01 was decommissioned when the federation charter was signed but im sure there must have been a few NX classes out there somewhere. so in that logic the NX class would at 1 point would have been a federation ship even if it was a few years.

Bearing in mind most of the nova's missions don't require being shot at or them defending themselves. It's in a the star trek magazines from a few years ago. I should appologise though and make myself clearer. The Freedom class vessel is single nacelled and is cannon. One appeared in the battle of wolf 359 because it can be seen either amongst the rubble in the TNG episode Best of both Worlds or is near the start of DS9 episode Emissary. I can never remember in which episode it was in without looking. However the name Firebrand was only a backstage source.

Intrepid Class is a Light Cruiser with state of the art systems and the fastest warp drive (until Prometheus Class) Akira Class is a reinvention of the Miranda Class it's simply a Medium Cruiser Torpedo Boat. and the Nova Class does have a similar hull as Intrepid but it's slower and a science vessel.

Akira is not a reinvention of the Miranda at all, its a new starship that replaced the Miranda class in the starfleet inventory and as for the Nova class looking similar to the Intrepid, i dont think so, looks more like a mini Soverign than anything else.

And to end your argument wether it is the theme or not... Watch the whole series carefully. They remixed the song at the beginning of the 3rd series. It really became sometzhing like this. I'm not sure wether it was this or it's "another" remix, but I prefer the original... That was the best version... I used to loop the beginning of an episode and I listened it again and again ^^

Actually even in my country there aren't too many people who like it... Star Trek was never like the Enterprise series... I don't mean I didn't love it... I do, even the song was great... But not for a ST series... It's a good sci-fi, but it was very far from everything which we liked in ST... Most who liked it AS ST (I repeat it, I do liked it, but as a random sci-fi series) was younger than 20... I met a few older people who liked it, but their number was really small.
