A Very fine and beautiful thoughts by the scholar Meesam Zaidi on the subject issue and I like him very much. May God give him more courage and conviction to bless us with such a thoughts and views on critical issues.

MuhammadAhmad1: Salam brother in Islam, you are partially right but truth is that Imam Ali(A.S) was killed by Shia-ne-Muawwiya(L.A) and not by Shia-ne-Ali (A.S). Shia means follower. Also, Shia-n-e-Ali (A.S) comemmorate the martyrdoms of all there heroes in Islam but not as Ashura. Because Ashura happend only once in the Islamic history where children and women were tortured and murdered by Shia-n-e-Muawwiya(L.A) and Shia-n-e-Yazid(Son of Muawwiya (L.A)). Please forgive me if ur feeling r hurt

The Shia mourning on Ashura has little do with their love for Hussain (رضّى الله عنه), but rather has more to do with their hatred of the Sunnis. Why else do they not comemmorate the martyrdoms of their other heroes, such as Ali (رضّى الله عنه) or Hamza (رضّى الله عنه)? The truth is that Ali (رضّى الله عنه) was killed by the Khawarij, a group of the Shia! This is why the Shia today do not make a big fuss about the death of Ali since it was a man from their own party who killed him.
