Ringo makes a good point. A lot of different areas were rockin with their own style, based on the crews and cliques that were in those areas.

The bushwick style has been more dominant I think because Dynasty did such a good job at spreading it around the world. But the more that u look into it you find out that ENY had smooth styles, Ringo, reppin his greepoint/southside styles, also greenpoint and FMD's, Coney Island, u could go on for days...haha.
