Chapman is not on roids. he is 6 foot 4 185 pounds. If he was on roids he would be all of 200 pounds in the very least he would be bigger now then he was at 19, if any one is on roids it's strasburg who admited to gaining all of his velocity from going to the "GYM" in his first year at San Diego. Roids automatically add's 10 to 20 pounds to you no matter what, I know because my Jr.college team loved roiding up and they all gained 20 pounds right off the bat then shriveled up like prunes.

He kicks his lift leg out to far and that slows him down to the plate and he doesn't finish with a flat back nor does his foot come off the ground in a follow thru....possible injury waiting to happen. You're looking at his mechanics in a purely modern spectrum, I think. Many older pitchers follow through like that, back leg doesn't kick high and through. Watch, Chapman's leg DOES in fact follow through, but not high. As for the leg kick ,he does a good job of keeping his front side closed and generates good torque through his core, it seems.

I worry that his throwing forearm is a little low and will lead to elbow problems, but the elbow not the ball is past second.
