Henry Winkler was so HOT and now he's trying to sell Sleep Number Beds to his and my generation!!!! When the frick did we get so old?!? I remember never missing an episode. Those really were my "HAPPY DAYS".
To anyone knocking "Happy Days" and "Laverne and Shirley"...you are obviously too young to remember these shows and how our families used to sit together and watch these shows...while you kids are going out, shooting each other, getting each other pregnant, cursing out your parents, and all but going to jail in come cases...hope YOU are having "happy days"...
@MZCZ129 I'm 45 and remember this show, sitting in my grandmothers living room, enjoying the hell out of it! LOVED it (liked Lavern and Shirley better, though...)..but they were so much fun!
I like The Cable/Deadpool version. SUNDAY, MONDAY CABLE PRAYS TUESDAY, WENSDAY DEADPOOL SLAYS THURSDAY, FRIDAY THE WORLD'S AT BAY THE WEEKEND COMES WITH SPANDEX BUMS READY TO FIGHT WITH YOU THESES DAYS ARE ALL, HAPPY AND FREE (THOSE HAPPY DAYS) THESE DAYS ARE ALL, BLEED OUT WITH ME(OH BABY) GOODBYE DARK DAYS, HELLO BLUE CAN'T STOP CABLE WHEN HE'S SAVING YOU FEELS SO RIGHT, IT CAN'T BE WRONG BUT WILL DEADPOOL STOP HIM BEFORE TO LONG (last part is same as top except 3rd line say Xmen and shield)

No Ralph, no Richie, practically no Potsie = failure. But I do like that Joanie and Chachi are in it a lot more. Joanie doesn't have to go upstairs all the time and Chachi can say more than wa wa wa. :)
To the 21 people who hate Happy Days...GO FUCK YOURSELVES i mean come on you haven't even givin this show a chance i mean seriously i bet your mad cause you can't have a happy day like the show did. They all became a family after that so why don't you all piss off and lay off the show that had an incredible 11 year run OK .
yea i know it sucked because ron howard didn't return for like 4 years..same goes with ralph andmuch of the show was all about joanie and chachi (which i didn't mind at all tho lol) new faces started coming in for awhile and as soon as joanie and chachi got back together again (for like the 20th time lol) they were broken up for some time then as soon as they got back together, he asked her to marry him..i tell ya it was like romio and juliet except for the part of dying that is
I was always amazed that for a show that was supposed to be a period show (set in the 50s/60s) how little effort the producers took to make it look the period. Joanie wearing an 80s dress with the high shoulders and frizzy permed hair. Chachie and the men with long blow dried feathered hair. I even saw a digital watch once on Mr. C. What a piece of garbage this show became in its later seasons.
Potsie sort of drifted after Richie and Ralph left and was rarely used by about 1982 so fell from relevance a bit. He was lucky to be even billed 5th!
I was in HS when this shit was on! It sucked root! And the main character the Fonz, was supposed to be a bad ass, yet he hung out in a malt shop,in the mens room ,intimidating HS kids.
Hardly watched this show, while everyone was home tuned in, my friends and I were living this. Cruising, working on hot rods, hanging out at the drive ins, burger joints, chasing the girls. I wish Happy Days was more rougher like American Graffiti and a less Andy Griffith.
@Smartboy8877,A show like Happy Days is supposed to relate to the average guy from the 50s or early 60s and he acts more like a gay porn star from a cheesy soap opera. He looked totally out of place in Happy Days.
As much as I hate the 1980's episodes, and the sterlized sounding "Happy Days" Theme, this last season re-working was truly the worst! By the way, I'll never understand why they changed the theme song from "Rock around the Clock!"!?
@moonjumpr , this season's opening is my favorite out of the entire series. I love the past and present pictures they show at the start of the intro as well as the cool update song.
@RSGCMA2 Tom Bosley was on the reunion show. he was so good as an actor, he was on MURDER SHE WROTE and TV's BLOOPERS AND PRATICAL JOKES as a victim.
Ugh...it's just so void and awful...the theme tune sounds strained and the new intro sequence seems desperate to retain the 70s produced charm and appeal. When a few characters go so do the better storylines. And the cast chemistry...
@ultraseb I'd agree with all you said if we were talking about the 10th season, which thankfully doesn't appear much on here (when even Baio and Moran were gone and replaced with dopplegangers). But in this final season, even Ron Howard made three appearances, and some of the classic moments we remember in retrospectives (Richie punching Fonzie, Richie/Fonzie goodbye at the front door, the backyard wedding, Fonzie's emotional move from the apartment above), all of it was from this final season.
@cstring420 i noticed that too.. he was on happy days, the love boat and married with children........all got cancelled while he was on. The shows were going great before he ever joined them
@cstring420 McGinley was in 164 episodes of Married w/ Children out of 262 total and 8 out of the 10 years. He was much more a part of the show than David Garrison (Steve Rhoades) was.
This was 1983-1984...no one was living in that 70s bubble anymore, which was the show's death as well as its main mistake to stay the same after so many years. From 1980-1982....okay...somewhat believable in that late 70s-early 80s fashion...but to continue onward to 1983-1984...it did sadly dated itself. Not to mention the timeslot change and the A-Team was by far the bigger seller that year alone. Not to mention Madonna, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, MTV were the most watched by then.
I thought Happy Days was supposed to be in the 50's?? They cast, except Fonz, look like 70's disco rejects. This show really went down the toilet, when Richie and Ralph Malph left the show. Talk about pathetic.
@Oceanpacifica1968 What does that have to do with, if the show was better or not?? The show was more like the REAL Happy Days, when him and Ralph Malph were on the show.
I know this is a 70's show taking place in the 50's, but when I hear this song, I can't help but think about the 90's. I guess those were my Happy Days.
Love the revamped theme & Joanie/Chachi clips (Baio now suddenly towering over Fonzie). Final season featured a return out of nowhere to great writing ala the '75-'76 season, and poignant story lines. Stop hating on my '84 Happy Days. ; ) Treasured memories for me. This season ranks with the first three in terms of quality of scripts and acting.
Sure sign to kill a show add Ted McGinley. He has killed Happy Days, Married With Children. And the Major League movie series (he was the manager of the Minnesota Twins in the 3rd installment)
@VaderNES ohhh that sucks i remember a episode from the first season i watched a few days ago it was about a wedding and richie was barely in it it starred hes parents it was so boring the diner weren there potsie and ralph werent there fonzie were there in a few seconds
@VaderNES No!!! : ) Agreed overall, but the eps from that final season of 1983-1984 topped most everything from the very late '70s eps when it became a bit of a lazy debacle when even the late '70s styles were taking over (in what was supposed to be 1961). This was around the time Ron Howard almost famously drove off the road on his way to filming in the 7th season. Instead, he decided to be a film director. PS: Night Shift (with Henry) is still one of the greatest movies ever (from '82). :)
@HelheimSlave - He and Ralph had left the show 3 years earlier (though they did take part in the Sat morning animated spinoff, The Fonz and the Happy Days Gang).
Thumbs up if 1980s is your favorite decade behind 1970

@mikemelvyn4003 I hate Hannah Montana.
Plus, I like Happy Days, just not episodes made in the '80s.

@VaderNES RIGHT, ALL THOUGH FOZIE HELPED THE SHOW...IT WASN'T RIGHT WITHOUT RON HOWARD...BUT I'M GLAD HE APPEARED IN THE FINAL EPISODE !!!!
