Totally wish I could have been there! Absolutely amazing and epic! Fun fact... being in Europe before the election was a little scary. I was a Californian. On November 5, it was like a lightswitch was flipped and people were excited and proud to talk to an American. It was amazing. The world views us differently already, and it's because of the night you experienced in New York!
Oh man, it must have been so amazing to be there. I wandered the streets of Edinburgh looking for ANYplace that was open past 1AM to watch the coverage, but it's a dead city during the week so I proceeded to wake up probably the entire building and everyone with a window open down the street by blasting the coverage online in my flat and cheering and calling my family:) Didn't sleep til 7:45 AM when I gave up waiting for the official CA proposition results.
question, are you going to make a song for Obama? I know Harry and the Potters did because I saw it on their myspace. It's called Pheonix Song for Barack. It would be so cool if all of you awesome Wizard Rock Bands that support Obama made a cd dedicating a bunch of songs to him. But I know that you guys are probably really busy to do so, but it's an idea.
So rad. Everything involved in this video. I especially liked the kazoo noises!
Poor Fox News. :D Speaking of which, what did that one sign say? "Thank you Sean Hannity + Bill O'Reilly for" something "the Republican Party" something? I'm going to assume that it wasn't particularly kind to them..
I had to work overnight on election night, so it was weird going into work with no way of knowing who'd won until morning. Thanks for posting this so I at least got a taste of the excitement!
This was far more exciting than my Election Day. Though I did make sure I was far away from my Republican suitemate. The scream, I hear, was glass shattering.
This video made me happy. Like your laugh at the end. XP
When they showed Times Square on the news I scoured the audience carefully for any of your faces - I was looking for giveaways like whiteblonde hair and a fedora. No such luck, but awesome footage, watching anything recording from the day just thrills me, I'm so happy.
Gah! I swear when the time machine is invented, I'm going to go back in time and go to Grant Park when they called it..and then NY...and then LA, etc, etc....
My little shindig was awesome, but not epic (though we did have a toddler decide she wasn't getting enough attention and so they ran around naked for a few minutes. That was hilarious).
I wish I could have been there. I was celebrating all by my lonesome in my room. Next presidential election though I'll be old enough to go into the city without my parents!
i wish i could have been somewhere like this INSTEAD of in my room in bumfuck north carolina. I'M SO HAPPY NC WENT BLUE. but it's still so divided here and no one in MY neck of the woods is celebrating :/ i NEED a place to celebrate.
YESSS! I'm so incredibly happy that Obama won - this really is going to change the world. Congratulations, America! Celebrating election night in the middle of NYC looks like an amazing experience.
Also, Melissa being on the front page of USA Today alongside Obama and McCain is pretty freaking awesome.
how did i not know this was happening??? i was in the financial district during this :(

I'm all for Obama, but it made me sad that he was against Same Sex marriages.
Then again, I'm Canadian, so it doesn't matter much.

obama isn't against same sex marriage..

EVERYBODY wins when Obama wins!
Well...that's my opinion anyway...
It wasn't quite THIS bad where I was, but I was on a college campus in an urban area in a Solid Blue state, so it was pretty intense.
