fleet foxes are american ?!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's such a common notion that collectives who are amazed by the brilliance of inspiring music expect the contributors to have all the answers. To you I reply: get off your asses and figure life out for yourselves; stop looking for others to define it for you and then being disappointed when they don't have something profound to say about it.
No, I agree with Casey, I don't think there is a music theory, you can hear something, a note, and know that it's C#, but all you're really doing is hearing the note, not the sound.
Music isn't about hearing, it's about listening, you listen to the beats and harmonies flowing together like the wind, theres no way to describe that, especially with little dots on lines, music isn't theory, music is sound.
i kind of get what he's saying about there not being music theory. I think what he means is that there needn't be equations and formulas to music for it to be great and moving. Great music solemnly relies on expression and human creativity.
At the basis of making music there isn't really theory, and what the sheet of music has written on it doesn't matter. You have ears, you can listen, and that's what music is all about right? That's how I interpreted that statement of "no music theory." Theory is only real when you aren't caught up in the moment of playing and really listening to your instrument.
I don't think these guys want to really do interviews but it's part of the being in the music business. I sure they would just rather express them selves on stage and in the studio. Great artist ...these guys will be around for a long time as long as they don't fall in love with a Yoko Ono .

guys in the middle and right are okey, but this one on the left is annoying a lot. He;s trying to pretend smart, but all he can say is "you know" in smart-sounding-tone
i met him. he met elliott. i almost met elliott... ps they are the nicest guys on earth. they just hung out with us after the show and had a cigarette. it was amazing.
@chaz32 Maybe instead of saying shut up you should listen closer to the words they said. You obviously heard something and jumped to your own ultimate conclusion. The musician knows there is a mathematical equation to producing and playing music. The great musical artist knows about the mathematical equation, ignores them, and moves on to create new ideas. That's what he was saying, but you were stuck amongst your opinion of his words.

Translating it to words can be difficult..no doubt.
