This shows what real love can be like. Something so wonderful. praying for a love revolution with people also instead of fighting and killing each other.
I have been teaching my middle school students about your programs. We have been watching the videos and reading about endangered animals as well as all the wonderful things you do to enlighten people. Expect letters from my special ed.class and know that we are grateful. i will visit my cousins in SC sometime soon and we'll all plan to visit TIGERS! This video is so inspiring. I just saw the book yesterday. You represent hope for all of us. Thank you, Joey Bortnick
Talk about destiny - I'm so pleased Roscoe chose that moment to appear. How lovely to see these beautifully kept, well-loved, wonderful animals having such a good life. They should show this video in schools to give an example of how we should all behave together.
This video made my day! Roscoe reminded me of my old hound dog Scooby Doo. Suriya and Bubbles are wonderful...may all three live long, healthy and happy lives!
That Bluetick coonhound lives up to the reputation of being great companions and loving company. We have two rescued coonhounds and this makes me want to find a 3rd rescue. Coondogs are typically "let go" by hunters when they are no longer good hunting dogs. So thankful to God that Roscoe found his way to you all - gotta love that Suryia.
Thank you so much for this video..I have e-mailed it to many friends. You are doing wonderful work, but I can't imagine who would have abandoned this beautiful Pointer. Lucky for him and for Suryia that they ended up in your care.
i just had a weird thought. apes and man have many things in common. a dog's real best friend could actually be apes. i heard animals communicate telepathically hmmm
Doc, Pat Flood here. I worked at Strand Metals where y'all used to buy some steel for cages. I had the 'ol Black & Tan hound dog Roscoe when y'all first got to Socastee. I had to put him down last Christmas. Seeing your video with the dog, elephant and orangutan sure took me back to the mid 1990's when I had visited your place to help build some stuff. I just wanted to say hello and I hope all of you are doing well. Great video. Best wishes.
How wonderful! Can we learn from these animals? I wish more people would take note. Thanks for sharing and for doing this wonderful job. Bless your hearts and bless those sweet darlings.
ive been studing about primates and big cats and elephants since i was old enough to read and i have wanted to work at tigers preserve since i found out it exsist and i work with our pets here in our house potty train them and i love to train animals and no one has answered this question is it worth all the hardwork cause i think it is i just want to here it from somone who works there
Roscoe is a Bluetick Coonhound. They have wonderful dispositions. Most Coonhounds do. Our Bluetick boy Raven is very easy going but don't be fooled these hounds were bred to hunt bear and cougar so they aren't wimps.
roscoes' show could be called rescued roscoe and his friends...or some cuter variation lol cant we see him regularly attached to a no kill shelter hawking homes for those not so lucky as he to be loved by an orangutan?

this is amazing! what job is this! you have the most amazing job on the planet! can i take your place when you retire?!?! but seriously, how can i work where you work
I just want everyone to know that "Roscoe" is a Bluetick Coonhound. It is a very rare and beloved breed of hunting dogs. I only say this because I have on named Trigger and loved the show I saw about these two. Although we can't have orangutans, we can have Blueticks!!! I've often wondered why there are so few of them since they are such loving, endearing protectors for their owners. So...if you're looking for a dog, get a Bluetick!!!!!

unfortunately, palm oil can probably be found in most P&G products. Look on the back of your shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, shaving cream, laundry detergent, cosmetics, etc. -- you'll be surprised at how many of them you buy come from P&G...
As a Canadian, I want to thank whoever had the idea to put this up on You Tube. Enjoyed this video soo much. It was such a pleasure to see Suryia and the dog (didn't catch his name) getting along soo well. Thanks 1000x for showing this video!! Loved it!!!!!
I fell in love with Orangs at the Fort Worth Zoo. Some little kid threw a pebble ito their habitat and the older one came over and picked it up and threw it back. Next thing I know I am playing toss with an orang for almost an hour. It hurt to leave them. They were like a family. The baby ones were playing peek-a boo and the older ones were trying to groom them and sleep... its incredible. That we think we are the only ones who feel, and love and know things. We could learn so much more...
OMG I am loving me some Suryia!!! I did not know about the palm oil. I'm going to look it up to see what products have it, and yes I will not use them. Write the companies and tell them why I won't buy or use it.

How can we doubt that animals can and do have a full range of emotions? Both of these wonderful animals share a bond of friendship, trust and love. Which is more than I can say for some human
Then one day a wolf came along and the orangutang thought it was his friend. The wolf thought the orangutang was the little red riding hood. The rest of the story is history.
Suryia is so nuturing to Roscoe and also so goofy half the time. You can tell that Roscoe doesn't mind one bit how Suryia acts or what he does, he just knows that he has the very best friend in the world. The friendship and love that these two have has put the biggest smile on my face. :)
We had a German Shorthair just like this one, she was best friends with the 'runt" of cat's liter, slept with her and watched over her every day. Those dogs are so loveable I cannot imagine anyone losing them and not go looking for them.
Thanks so much for uploading this video! It is such a heart-warming story! If only humans could get along as well as some animals this world would be a much better place. Ron
Got enough to do trying to outlaw the needless breeding of BILLIONS of animals - cows, pigs, chickens - for food,
and subsequent confined, torture and murder, and to win the PETA prize to biotechnologically engineer synthetic meat by the year 2012. Can't worry about palm oil.
That's it - mammals and birds share the human characteristics for bonding and affection - because we all evolved from the same place. Past time to bring the animals into the sphere of moral consideration and stop exploiting , torturing and killling them, and to cherish our common pool of feelings and behaviors, and to work for a decent life for all human and non human animals! No more palm oil!
if you google "palm oil products" - there are sites that list products as well as brands that have signed on to use only "sustainable yield" palm oil and those that have not.
It's important that we support the good guys and let them know we do and why.
Thank you for posting this wonderful, touching, and very informative video. You are rendering a great service both to these precious animals as well as to us viewers! NO MORE palm oil in this house!!! Thank you, again, and best wishes!
Its a great video but if the orangutan got mad he could seriously hurt that dog, or drown him.. they are both cute.. I guess they would have to be supervised.
Absolute best thing I have ever seen! How ironic too...having a dog and an Oranguan be BFFs. I volunteer in animal rescue where I try with many others to save as many dogs from being euthanized as possible due to overpopulation and irresponsible owners, and here you are trying to save Orangutan's from extinction. Palm Oil is extinct from my house now for sure! Thank you for resuing them both!
Julia Roberts did a documentary about orangutans a few years back which was fascinating. They are so clever, one used a boat to get to the other side of the river! At the Fort Worth Zoo I saw a young one leave his mom, zoom up to another female sleeping on a ledge below, stick his finger in her ear and dash back to his mom. What a prankster! I thoroughly enjoyed your video, will forward it and banish palm oil from our pantry!
Can I move in with you guys? Will work for (getting to spend) time spent with Suryia and Roscoe! What kind of lucky people are you any way? You have such great karma getting to help and take care of special, special animals. We love em too, we have 9 cats. I am in awe! So, so, so cute! Thanks for sharing & caring!
A medical comment: Palm oil and palm kernel oil are two saturated fats that will enhance plaque buildup in a person's arteries. They are best avoided in one's diet, in favor of vegetable oils or fish oils.
What a wonderful video! I can't stop smiling - see? :-)
Seriously, thank you for such a well-done video emphasizing both the lighter side of animal relations and the serious immediate need for intervention in the use of palm oil. In this day and age of synthetic alternatives, there is no valid reason to continue to destroy vital habitat for this silly commodity. THANKS!
What a terrific video. I didn't realize that orangutans were an endangered species. I wish these killings of all animals would stop to save the species. I wonder where this video was taken that they could ride and elephant down the sidewalk. Loved it
Yes, unfortunately orangutans are one of the most endangered species out there.
This video was take at the T.I.G.E.R.S. Preserve in Myrtle Beach, SC. You can actually meet Suryia the orangutan (and Bubbles, the elephant he rode on) at the Preserve Tour. The tours do two important things: 1) teach people about wildlife and conservation and 2) actually generate money for conservation efforts. To learn more about the tour and our conservation projects, click on the links to the right of the video.
Thanks for helping to spread the word about the gentle and intelligent orangutans being an endangered species. This video is very cute!! I'd love to see an update on these two buddies.
Tthe expressions of pure love, peace, and devotion on the faces of the animals and their wonderful humans is just amazing! EXTRAORDINARY! Thanks for posting, and blessings to you for your amazing work.
This is one of the most adorable things i have ever seen in my life . :)) sooooooooo cute

This has to be one of the sweetest things I've ever seen.

In life, sometimes the best of friends are the most unlikely combinations. Go figure.
If you're feeling lonely, outcast or just plain outside the fence, take heart, someone loves you.

Thanks so much for uploading this video! It is such a heart-warming story! If only humans could get along as well as some animals this world would be a much better place. Ron

Orangutans are very special. I heard they are the least violent, most friendly of the primates - hmmm that includes us!

Are we talking about GMO here? There are already a lot of fabulous faux-meat products made from veggie protein.

Hey Tobe -- you really know how to use your Aple App - I sent this one off to two unemployed friends in to brighten their day. Thanks.

I am totally in love with orangutans now! Thank you.
bluegrrl88 2 years ago
That's it - mammals and birds share the human characteristics for bonding and affection - because we all evolved from the same place. Past time to bring the animals into the sphere of moral consideration and stop exploiting , torturing and killling them, and to cherish our common pool of feelings and behaviors, and to work for a decent life for all human and non human animals! No more palm oil!

if you google "palm oil products" - there are sites that list products as well as brands that have signed on to use only "sustainable yield" palm oil and those that have not.
It's important that we support the good guys and let them know we do and why.
corinnemcafee 2 years ago 3
if humans evolved from monkeys (just in general meaning all monkeys, orangutans, chimps etc), that dogs have always been "mans" best friend?

Thank you for posting this wonderful, touching, and very informative video. You are rendering a great service both to these precious animals as well as to us viewers! NO MORE palm oil in this house!!! Thank you, again, and best wishes!

Its a great video but if the orangutan got mad he could seriously hurt that dog, or drown him.. they are both cute.. I guess they would have to be supervised.
lovingmichealjackson 2 years ago

This just goes to show that we as humans should get along no matter what ethnicity or background we have.

Loved it
remsaj 2 years ago
Yes, unfortunately orangutans are one of the most endangered species out there.
This video was take at the T.I.G.E.R.S. Preserve in Myrtle Beach, SC. You can actually meet Suryia the orangutan (and Bubbles, the elephant he rode on) at the Preserve Tour. The tours do two important things: 1) teach people about wildlife and conservation and 2) actually generate money for conservation efforts. To learn more about the tour and our conservation projects, click on the links to the right of the video.

I imagine they'd have to be supervised though. That oragutang looks like he's powerfully strong.
Nice video!
