It is a 214e, you're correct.. however the 114 is not different because of a cutaway.

The 114ce has a cutaway. The 114, and 114e are both Grand Auditorium models, with no cutaway. That's the same for the 214 also. It comes in 214e, and 21ce as well.

The only difference between the two guitar models is that the 214 uses rosewood back and sides, and the 114 is sapele.

etmrdaj78, its hard to tell from the video but it could range from 114e to 414e. only way to tell is to handle the guitar personally since theres only little things different in each series. i'd like to say its a 314e.

Picking and hammeroff's are developed from a players personal style and tecnique, not the strings my friend.

And for a Taylor 114 ce try a set of

D'Addario Exp 17 Bronze Medium

$11.99 with musicians friend.

a good set of medium size strings will improve apon your tone much more than light strings will for the ga body style of the 114. I hope I helped.
