I think too many people are critical of season 4.0/4.5. Yes Pokota is kind of a Pokemon/Digimon character which turned me off in the beginning. Slayers Revolution with Wizer and Pokota is annoying and not that great. Gioconda and Duclis were boring. The rebirth of Zanaffer didn't do much for me since I kind of liked the way it was portrayed with Copy Rezo in season 1 more. That being said, Evolution-R is a much better series with Nama, Rezo, human Pokota, and of course "Ghost" Shabranigdo!

@SonNuriko If you're a Slayers fan you owe it to yourself to watch both of these new series. :) Pokota grows on you and actually he's less annoying than Filia. Now, I will say this, Revolution was kind of meh which of course is mostly true of the 1st half of the previous Slayers seasons (except Try). Evolution is just more fun with Nama, Rezo, and of course "Ghost" Shabranigdo.

@aquameow I think it was a symbolism. Even though Lina killed them they still haunt her somewhat in her heart, but her friends are there to help her. At least that's what I got. Therefore showing the good guys kinda defeats the purpose in my opinion. I hope that helps a little.

A mi personalmente me dejaron mal sabor de boca estas dos ultimas temporadas porque creí que habría un combate super epico XD como salen los personajes que ya derroto anteriormente en el opening...Pero la animación es genial y bueno que decir de la serie...para mi es la mejor indudablemente ya este doblada subtitulada o en lo que sea, es increíble!Viva Lina!!!! :D

Si, podrian haber hecho una mejor historia, ya que el mundo de slayers es muy basto. Pero bueno como cualquier fanatico o persona que haya visto slayers, una nueva temporada es genial, despues de haberse terminado try y finalizar las temporadas.

The animation, or rather, the art style, remains the same. But it has been updated to match the rest of the anime universe, but to be honest I still see no issue with it. It takes getting to use, after a decade of how far animation has come since the original Slayers, Slayers Next, and Try (Not to mention the movies and the episodes with Naga etc). All the same, the show hasnt changed it's style, be thankful for that.

Agreed, and it still has "Slayers" feel even then, so I can't comprehend what he's quibbling about. If the art style or animation is enough to subvert what truly makes Slayers magnificent(the humor and the eccentric characters), then they have no business calling themselves Slayers fans. It's just artistic vanity.

Eh, I guess I can respect that opinion because everyone likes different things. Then again, even though traditional style has that sense of nostalgia to it, I am also the type that likes it when animation evolves and looks a little more three-dimensional.

Also I wouldn't say that all anime fans would agree with you on that idea. I have meet some people who claim to be hard-core anime fans that do like it when animation get's a little more elaborate and three-dimensional.

Does anybody know why they don't adapt last novels in story i mean they done more than enough of this stand alone anime stories but, these were okay they just didn't do anything that hadn't already been done. Really should bring it to close soon if they do anymore adapt rest of the novels and, give closure to the thing before becomes stale.

I must admit that Slayers is my favorite anime since I saw the first episode of the first season, and although 10 years have passed since TRY, I feel that the "essence" of Slayers is still the same, and that is awesome!

Obviously they applied new designs and effects that animations offer us these days, but that touch of the characters, the situations... all keep that "something" that make me love this anime!!
