i don't like it when people automatically awesome the stereotype of a gang member. Not every member likes shooting people, the reason why some of them are bad is not because of their on will but because of the surroundings and the experiences that they went through. El Salvador has been struggling with these sorts of problems and curroption since the 16 century, they need to find ways on how to try and treat gang members.

this is a sad story. duke has a nice family; a lovely wife who tries to put the family together yet she endures every pain that she encounters, and the kids who love their dad no matter who he is. except for the prison part, they were just like any other family, throwing a birthday party for their daughter and so on. not sure what happened but since he has gone back to her, wish duke and his family all the best. i have watched all the series and have a better understanding of gangs now.

I caught this on BBC3 a few years ago and i'm really glad ive managed to find it here.
I think a lot of people are leaving comments crticising the inmates and their lifestyle to feed a superiority complex. You will never be brought up in the atmosphere that most of these guys were and you will never understand the circumstances that these guys have found themselves in.
Rather than getting self-righteous, just appreciate the human element to this excellent documentary.

I didnt join a gang, but i understand where ppl say hey fuck these guys, they mess up society and act like its no big deal, just do what they want for them and fuck anybody else. I am not critisize them so that I can feel superior but because it hurts to see my people act out this way, were not progressing in any way shape or form.
