lol jobbse i have read nearly all the conan books and many of the comic books, the one thing i hear about the most is his prodigious strength. if you take a look at the comics you will see a man with nearly the same muscle mass as arnold and while i agree completely that arnold was terrible for the role i also believe jason momoa is certainly NOT muscled enough to play conan.
There are many descriptions of Conan. As a Character from his earlier books to his later ones he's changed in many ways and stayed the same fundamental man in others. He was described as mighty, muscular yet agile like a panther or a predatory cat. Momoa has Blue Eyes all be them dark. Conan was described as having a certain degree of personal humor. A humor I think is similar to Rhonon Dex which Momoa portrayed in Stargate Atlantis. Momoa is a lot closer then Arnold to the Howard envisionment.

dude this movie was epic fail the scene where rose mcgowan is looking for the pure blood in that temple & has all the girls lined up she was off center from the camera almost the whole time. her role was not properly cast. she just didn't flow right & a lot of repetitious scenes to bad too. i liked jason momoa from the stargate series but he just wasn't a good conan.Ron Perlman of all people did a good character but he couldn't save this movie by himself. Stephen Lang did a great bad guy.

lol jobbse i have read nearly all the conan books and many of the comic books, the one thing i hear about the most is his prodigious strength. if you take a look at the comics you will see a man with nearly the same muscle mass as arnold and while i agree completely that arnold was terrible for the role i also believe jason momoa is certainly NOT muscled enough to play conan.

There are many descriptions of Conan. As a Character from his earlier books to his later ones he's changed in many ways and stayed the same fundamental man in others. He was described as mighty, muscular yet agile like a panther or a predatory cat. Momoa has Blue Eyes all be them dark. Conan was described as having a certain degree of personal humor. A humor I think is similar to Rhonon Dex which Momoa portrayed in Stargate Atlantis. Momoa is a lot closer then Arnold to the Howard envisionment.

Read the Robert E Howard stories...and yeah...Jason Momoa...is much closer to the real Conan....Arnold was a terrible actor...Way to big to move with the agility of a panther...when I go back and read a story of Robert E. Howard's I can see Jason...I didn't read the books until After the 1982 version and I NEVER saw Arnold when I was reading...NEVER!!

The only thing I don't like (personal opinion, don't kill me) is the long drawn out action scenes. Im a fan of TSSOC books where fights consisted of 1. piss Conan off 2. Conan cleaves skulls from bodies 3.Conan gets drunk 4. Conan sleeps with the men he just slayeds women. That was the beauty of Conan, fast visceral savagery, not twenty minute fight scenes.
