Someone out there should remaster this bad boy, repair the poor souund quality, get Tony, Geezer and Vinnie to re-record what they can and release this. It's brilliant.
I would have put it earlier than dehumanizer though, sounds more like it should be on Mob Rules or Heaven & Hell.
But there's a Dio song called Caught in the middle. It may have been a working title, or something that they wrote for Mob Rules or something but never recorded.
It probably was left out because it's not as dark as the rest of the stuff on Dehumanizer. That album was terribly heavy. This song sounds more like Eternal Idol era material and the Tony Martin stuff.
great ! and very rare line up with Cozy and Geezer together . Never record released with this rythmic section . It "s a crime to forget this song in the set list .
Does anyone else release just how good these early demos were? Actually put them altogether and they would've been much better than what became the Dehumanizer album itself!
Listening to that album makes me depressed with all the negative lyrics and slow plodding tempos. These demos aren't like that at all and Tony's guitar work here is very VERY good. These demos are a better sounding cross between Heaven & Hell and Mob Rules than the god awful "The Devil You Know" album they just released.
Music needs to have this kind of feel once again not one of constant depression and hopelessness.
I wish they would release the "Eternal Idol" with Ray Gillen.....his tracks were re done when Tony martin came....both are great vocalists. Sabbath has alwasy had some of the greatest vocalist's in rock, DIO, GLENN HUGHES, IAN GILLAN, RAY, GILLEN....oh did I forget Ozzy..lol
@tollo69 Hey thanks so much, I am pre-ordering Eternal idol as we speak, as well as Seventh Star because it has a live cd with Ray recorded june 1986...thanks so much for the info. I love Eternal Idol with Tony Martin as well, definetly was best of the Martin era. So what is Sabbath gonna do now since Dio's passing? record with Ozzy again or bring back Tony Martin?
Yeah, parts of this were used on Computer God, but not the lyric. There are at least 5 other versions of Computer God that are demos that more resemble the released product. This is much different than those.
@NooDLES411911 yes maybe in tribute ytoto sabbath fans and dio passing on they will remake these or re release it on cd maybe iommi and geezer can figure something out .i hiope
Maybe thats the reason why they left it outside from the album, it was maybe too similar to Computer God. But why it would be called Caught In the Middle, cause Dio alredy has a song named Caught On The Middle.
I know they wouldn't of named it that, but its ok for a working title. It's the most prominent lyric I can hear and most repeated, which is why I call it that. It's better than "unreleased song".
this stuff needs to be released

I think this is a demo song from Dio not Black Sabbath
TheMetalikman 3 months ago
It would be awesome to see this guys do a version of this song and add their own thing to it.
Ozzy Osbourne- lead vocals
Dave Mustaine- lead guitar, backing vocals
James Hetfield- rhythm guitar, backing vocals
Dave Ellefson- bass, backing vocals
Lars Ulrich- drums
irwin3036able 4 months ago
@irwin3036able Good idea except get Dave Mustaine and Tony Iommi on guitar, and pick a different drummer like Nicko McBrain or Charlie Benante..

Dehumanizer is Sabbath's best album, bar none, in my opinion.
DarkWolf5250 1 year ago
Is there any Iommi riff that doesn't kick ass? Geezer's bassline is just icing on the Iommi cake.
RCAvhstape 1 year ago
Eyeesh, if that's Dio, it's the worst I've ever heard him from this era.

Who is singing on it? It isn't Dio.

You can have 2 songs with the same name, just not on the same album, and they should be different in the way they are sung and instrumentals.

The bass is kickass on this song.
