I'm sure you've had experience with compact fluorescents. They're definitely more "Eco-friendly"' but something that I think you'd enjoy is that the CFLs generally don't get as hot as incandescent bulbs. Also, if you are like me and hate the yellowish color of most incandescent lights, try out GE's "Daylight" Pretty blueish-white light! Hope this helps.

David. Never ever get incandescent light bulbs. Go with CFL's or LED's (if you got the money for 3). Incandescents waste a TON of electricity. Save of your electric bill. :)

I bought a similar lamp but I made sure it used 100watt bulb instead of 60watt bulb like yours. That way, I am getting 300 watt instead of just 180watt. Yes, brighter is better.

David, get some of those cool 'daylight' fluorescent bulbs, they are great, nice and bright and the light that you get out of them is really white and not the horrible yellowish tint. Also they are GREAT for videos.
