  • What a cool ass job.

    DO WANT!

  • cool!

  • did you make the vid

  • Not this one, got it off a website ;)

  • How does the CoCollector work? It looks like both the trash and the recycling goes into the same hopper -- is there a lid that diverts the load into one of two chutes?

  • There is a wall down the middle of the truck (vertically) and the paddle packer at the front (also mounted vertically, very much like a door) sweeps the trash onto one side of the wall and the recycling onto the other. Check out Heil's website for more info.

  • what city.

  • somewhere in northern California...not sure really

  • San Jose, CA

  • cool

  • I like the Rapid Rail Co-Collector, but it doesn,t seem as fast as a Macdonald Johnston DART which can empty recycling and rubbish bins into the top and bottom levels. Also the Superior Pak 'Single Pass' seems a bit faster as well. But an excellent disign the Rapid Rail Co-Collector. In Australia in the MJE DART and in the Superior Pak 'Single Pass', rubbish is emptied into the bottom level, recycables on the top level. Great Post!

  • for this truck, it is split vertically so trash goes on one side and recycling can go on the other. I can't take the credit for filming this video, however. It was from an equipment website called raymaxequipment(dot)com

  • well with a skilled operator this truck can got very fast maybe as fast as the mje and superior pak cuz i have the normal rapid rail service my house and depending on the driver they can do my whole street (15 homes) in under 2 min so there prety good but it depends on how the hydrolics are set up to cuz there adjustable!!

  • I was just thinking about that, and it's true...if you have a fast truck and a great operator, you could easily get a 15-house street done in under 2 min. (about 8 sec./bin). Pretty crazy! Also depends on how far apart the houses are though...

  • Hi guys,

I've been a binman (garbage man) for 10 years in the UK. That system is pretty cool, but it must take forever to complete your rounds. We use rear loaders with domestic 240 litre wheeled bins. We do about 1500 - 2000 bins a day, using 2 loaders and putting on 2 bins at once. Even starting at 06.30 we don't finish the round before 14.30 - 15.00, then we have to tip. How many bins a day do you do and how long does it take? Would be interested to know.

  • Rear loaders are fun to watch but I just think that ASL's out-perform rear loaders easily because they empty the bin quickly and they can empty 2000-3000 homes a day in some places with ASL's.

  • bullcrap!!! I run a ASL and do about 1200 homes a day and it takes a good 10 hours

  • Yeah. All of the trains come frm the U.P. railyard in Roseville. Im not sure of any Sana Fe bridge, but there are only a few bridges in Rocklin that go over the train tracks

  • yeah totally! a large part of my route is in Rocklin, another part of A.P.D.S territory. Our warehouse is based in Loomis

  • Neat! My cousin lives there...a lot of trains around that part!! He lives around this really big Santa Fe bridge in Rocklin.

  • I KNOW THAT PAINT SCHEME!!! Thats Nor-Cal Waste Systems!!! Do you know exactly what division of NCWS Inc this is? I work up in Auburn, CA on my Monday route and I'm all around Auburn-Placer Disposal service all the time.

  • Really? Interesting! Not sure which division though. Btw, have you ever been through Rocklin?

  • The Heil rapid rail equipment and the Volvo Expeditor are new for the customers for Bungling Binmen of the UK and NYC Department of Sanitation.
