My father was part of the Chinese army that kicked Dalai Lama and Indians out of the border of China. First hand experience of how Indians encouraged Dalai and his gang to claim independence. Parenti's thesis that summarizes how completely disconnected he is from any kind of Tibetan reality. In his thesis, he states that old Tibet was a society that was 'damaging to the human spirit.' Any person who has spent any time with the Tibetan people would laugh at the irony.

"Scholars" like Parenti and Grunfeld and Strong, with limited source material and no firsthand experience, see old Tibet as a horrible place; but the bottom line is they're not Tibetan. And if Tibetans themselves don't see their past as a past of feudal lords and merciless repression, then do they really need "scholars" like Parenti to tell them what their past is all about?

Let's separate between what kind of person Dalai Lama is and what kind of rule CCP did in Tibet, because no matter how bad CCP's done in the past cannot effect the truth that Tibet was part of China or not. Personally, I don't support CCP. So it comes to my key issue----That article proves to ppl that Dalai Lama is a lair, he polished his image by lying to western world, to his believers. If you know Tibetan culture you would know that the beggar is their greatest teacher. You would also know the greatest Lamas in Tibet whom condemned the theocracy were beggars. (C KeithDowmanCrazyLama) You would also know that it is only the Kagu School that passes the "riches" of the monestary to the sons along with the "teachings".Organised religion is an organisation and are subject to corruption of one degree or the other, but the killing of innocent people... ignorant or not; is killing.

The spirit Nechung is evil and unenlightened. Why does the Tibetan Govt use him to fortell the future. Many decisions are made based on him entering a medium and speaking. Why dont we take refuge in Buddha and rely on him. Why evil spirit Nechung??
