  • The Nobility of the God given talent is in every sound of her voice, every feature of her face and body, every her movement.

  • the good lord's gift to the world deanna durbin, no one can or will ever fill her shoes, the missing ingredient to today's cruel world. the voice of an angel.

  • gahhhhhh! she so amazing!

  • And again! So friggin' gorgeous and effortless about her talent... Amazing, truly.

  • In my opinion the performance of this Russian song, in my favorite Deanna Durbin film, was the high point of her career! Wonderful singing, with beautiful "soft focus close ups" for the slow parts.

  • It must have been marvelous to be there live.

  • @manuelo:

Well, on iTunes for instance ;-) Bought my version there.

BTW, is there any place in the world today where you can just enter a public nostalgic coffee bar like that to listen to such beautiful young women singing such good old traditional music in such style - maybe walking along the tables and spreading their charm all over the amazed crowd? Not just in the manner of an official performance, but more like part of the employed bar staff?

And I am NOT talking about a brothel, folks!

  • THERE IS NO ONE WHO CAN BEGIN TO COMPARE WITH THE AMAZING DEANNA...

  • BRAVO!

  • Deanna said she learned the languages of the songs she sang so that she would know what the words meant, and be able to interpret them through her singing.

  • Great togheter with the emotionel aspects. They can learn something of it nowerdays.

  • Now that i've got the words all i need is the music! Anyone know where i can get it?

  • Dm Am E F

Две гитары, зазвенев, жалобно заныли. Dm Am E Am A7

С детства памятный напев. Милый, это ты ли? Dm Am E7 Am

Эх раз, еще раз, еще много, много раз!

  • And the second of the three songs: D B7 Em Em7 A A7 D

    Отвори потихоньку калитку B7 Em Em7 A

    и войди в тёмный сад,

    A7 D A7/A/B/C

    ты как тень. D B7 Em Em7 A A7 D

    Не забудь потемнее накидку, B7 Em Em7 A A7 D

    кружева на головку надень.

  • @ddurbinfan great! How about the third song dve gitari?

  • how in the world did she learn that song? that's a tough language. fabulous!

  • Her singing of Russian songs is still considered best ever. I've posted the same clip at durbinrus channel. You can find the word of these 3 songs in Russian there.

  • And even here now.

  • I'd love to know the translation of that Russian song.

  • I think It's funny that her dress is still a variation of a maid's uniform.

  • I think It's funny that her dress is still a variation of a maid's uniform.

:would not be so sure. Rather very Russian of the day. USA: late 1920s and on up to 1960s!

  • Brilliant!

  • She mustn't have heard what Popov said, she really did a great job on this song. From what I heard she spoke 4 or 5 languages. What a beautiful vouce.
