  • It's a beautiful song, brings a tear to my eye each time I hear it.

  • "the only question left to ask was what would happen after everything familiar collapsed."

  • This is such a poignant song, it just takes me straight back to my childhood. The power & beauty of music encapsulated.

  • My favorite band, always soothing, always wonderful! I really want the see them live!

  • The first time I listened to " I can't seem to make you mine".... I was so impressed....but...when i listened to this song....I started to cry like a baby: The lirycs, the magic music in the background and The Story.... So amazing band...

I'm from Ecuador..so I apologize for my bad English....God Bless the Clientele!!!!

  • I was the same way, I cried the first time I heard I Can't Semm To..., but as you said, I bawled like a baby when I heard this. I still do if I'm alone somewhere with it playing.

  • I was on Merge's website listening to random play when I first heard this. I rushed to get the album. So great. This song takes me to another place, some dreamworld where my emotions exist outside of time.

  • @SnowKeane

I was just shown this by a friend from Canada who told me that this reminded her of the way I described my time in London. I listened to it and it works so well! For someone who lives so far from London to feel it too clearly indicates the beauty and relaity of the prose... Glad we had a connection here.

  • The lyrics are a bit mangled in the link you gave. The correct words, as written by Alasdair MacLean, are in a January 2006 entry in Alasdairs blogspot, From Brighton Beach to Santa Monica search for Losing Haringey
