  • The game is good but bad music and bad endings

  • You all hate this version... This was the only version I had, and I loved it :)

  • 29:16

BWAHAHAHA, Its Like they didnt even try with Ken's ending, it looks like MS Paint.

  • Us gold bitches...................

  • this version is crap man.

  • I cant believe the megadrive/snes versions actually beat the amiga version

  • It's sad for Street Fighter. On the Amiga, Mortal Kombat 1 & 2 are very good but both versions of Street Fighter are really bad :(

  • Why is it playing the wrong music all over the place? Zangief has a crappy ken stage remix on his....

  • It was wrong. And the disk swapping man. Did no one mention that? You had to swap loads of times before each fight. But it was better than nothing and we had many games of this.

  • I remember this port of SFII.

I was 7 or 8 and I knew that something's wrong with the animation, but couldn't tell what. I used to scream at my brother, who used to beat the shit out of me in this game, that 'I can't see the characters' (the poor animation issue).

The next big title I got was Mortal Kombat, which was also really fucked up conversion, but at least it FELT like Mortal Kombat.

Amiga COULD do so much better, but we had to wait several years for Shadow Fighter to really show it.

  • No parallax scrolling? Ugh...

  • To me this is the only REAL Street FIghter game... I fuckin' LOVED this game!

  • I remember my friend having SF2 on the SNES and wanting it SO bad,

My mum and dad got me the Amiga (as thats all I had and loved) version for christmas and it came on like 4/5 disks and was pretty much the shittest xmas present ever. My fault for wanting it so bad though :P

  • 24:50 How did they move Thailand all the way out there in the Pacific?

  • The graphics look some how good but the rest of the game Is BRoken

  • this take me back in 88

  • Only 4 stage themes? One of them a butchering of the player select screen?

They must have been lazy or the Amiga sucked so much that it only could handle those!

  • the intro music sounds like the main instrument is played by a kazoo ;>_>

  • Wow, what a piece of shit. Is this game broken?

  • Aaah the music !! My ears !!!

  • @mrsethcorbin the music was great

  • Carbon, are u kidding? Amiga was not more powerful than the arcade. Try the arcade in mame and u will understand. Amiga had big problems with beatém ups, and u are right about US Gold (crap company). SNES version was good and very playable, almost identical to the arcade. But still, the arcade kicks ass!!

  • Even if the Amiga was 100x more powerful than the arcade machine Us Gold wouldve still screwed up the conversion because they suck scrotum.

  • The amiga version was so frustrating and difficult.. But at least it was difficult..

  • The music sounds like a warped record is being played!! LOL!!!

  • it sounds like it was broken (like in a NES pirate game)

  • oh god, how painful this was on a joystick !

playing the SNES version was undoubtedly the best :)

  • The SEGA Mega Drive / SEGA Genesis version of the game is the most arcade accurate home console version. Hell it even leaves in the entire intro sequence [except it changes the black guy who gets knocked-out to a white guy... why? Who knows, it's nothing racist about it.] But yeah... SEGA version is amazing. :)

This Amiga port however is pretty decent. Though not 100%.

  • WTF ?

Ryu can get hit while performing the "sho ryu ken" move ?

  • lol, Chun Li is happy to have been hit by barrels in her head

  • Oddly enough, I like this version of the opening better than the SNES/Genesis version.

  • lol, white dick

  • i love how blocking doesnt really matter at all considering how much health you lose if you block

  • 29:26 OMG ELISA!!! Wow...

  • The music is all wrong...

  • US Gold made the Final Fight port too right?

  • this game is classic!!!

  • What annoys me most, is that british UK magazines positively reviewed this game, giving 80% or so, fooling many Amiga users to buy it - I remember how disappointing it was compared to my school mates who had SNES or Megadrive versions.....

  • Me too, i got this for christmas in the year of release and i was royally fucked off.

  • US GOLD...

  • everything about this port is wrong. The horrible animation, the way the character float and fly around after being hit.

Capcom had nothing to do with this port and it shows. Its a fucking disgrace, fuck us gold, no wonder they went bankrupt.

  • this game was nearly unplayable

  • It was horrible.

  • only thing i like about this game is music. i like the instruments composer is using.

  • and don't worry rubberhoodie, i didn't have to pay money for this game, i got a copy

  • memories. i remember constantly having to change disks between fights. please insert disk 3 (2 seconds later) please insert disk 1. great!!

  • If you like DJing you should also try out Mortal Kombat :) It has 4 disks too.

  • monkey island had 12!

  • The intro music isn't bad. The rest of it sucks.

  • nah, i like most of the songs.

  • Strange version, this one. Slow, music is all wrong... SNES conversion is much better!

  • As bad as this is it still sounds better than the sega genesis version.

  • are you kidding? are you referring to the sega megadrive? it runs on 16bit gfx and sounds fantastic, its like an arcade machine

  • I was only referring to the sound quality because the megadrive or genesis uses the fm sounds everything sounds distorted or warbled. I am still a big sega fan and have owned everything they made.

  • That's weird, the sega I've got sounds great, no distortions. It's the Sega Megadrive II, the square one with red buttons and ability to support the cd-rom drive expansion thing which I never got. That the one you have?

  • the sega version was ok..but nowhere near as good as the original arcade..the sound chip in the genesis was very good, running on similar hardware as the arcade as terms as the music goes..but the genesis had VERY shitty voice capabilites. they were very staticky. the snes version on the other hand had better colors and graphics, and voice effects. imho.

  • Do you have this in SF2 CHAMPION EDITION?

  • they aint one only super

  • I like the music in the amiga version. They were originally going to have music that did sound much like the original (FM-synth, yuck), fourtnatly they changed the musician, and this "heavier" soundtrack was used instead :)

  • i had chinese workers for swapping when playing this and final fight.

  • i got this version. it was awful on amiga, compared to the snes version. unplayable, poorr graphics, poor motion, sfx pitiless ^^

super street fighter 2 turbo conversion on pc was much better.

  • Note to US Gold:

PAY ATTENTION! It was supposed to be an arcade conversion i.e. THE SAME AS THE ARCADE.

They obviously didn't even bother where it came to the music.

  • your rite it was terrible

    same as the game

  • At 3:59 Zangief is kicking the air when Chun Li is giddy?

  • Go Chun Li!

  • Reminds me of the MS-DOS version. But the it looks like it's maybe slightly more playable than the PC version. I remember this was one of the first DOS PC games I ever saw and it gave me a very bad first impression of PC games (I felt sorry for PC gamers who didn't own an SNES). Of course, my opinion of PC games changed radically once I played ol' DOOMSKI (yes I know this pertains to AMIGA but I still get the basic idea) Also, is Chun Li wearing lipstick? That's hot;D

  • its not more playable its terrible

  • Why does Ken's theme constantly play???

  • Also, look at "Lisa"!!! LOL they even got her name wrong!XD

  • music = teh suck

  • 40:40 gorbachev dancing with zangief lmao

  • This was such a strange one. At first glance it's another U.S.Gold Style botched Final Fight conversion, but in fact the game played surprisingly well and was good fun but it wasn't really any patch on the original.

Horrid animation and colour schemes seemed to seal it's fate. If it looked a bit smoother it probably would have got away with it. The completely inaccurate music is another story though, I think the music department listened once to the songs and guessed the rest. Dreadfull!

  • I think they ran out of disc space or memory or something regarding the music actually. I don't think it was ever intended to use the character select theme as a tune in the actual game but knowing deadlines and lack of resources, etc, they had to make do with what had been done. I'm sure with time, SF2 on the A500 could be really accurate to the coin-op (just make sure you have a six button joystick / pad eh?).

  • Street fighter on anything but the Snes is a NO!

  • What about the arcade?

  • Zangief's ending is rotflmao!

  • The music is cool

  • This port is pretty awful! The graphics are ok, but the rest is awful, especially the music! Gotta love that horrible vibrato on most of the lead parts, and the completely inaccurate renditions of the original music. Insulting to the original!

  • Well played, noble warrior

  • HADOUKEN!!! Legend of a game lol

  • The chunky movements are the real deal! Seriously! They may look ugly, but very cool to fight on 2 player mode.

PS: The Shoryuken is a total frustration.

  • The best Street Fighter II ever made! Wonderful! Me and my brothers used to spank ourselves cause the lots of cheating possibilities of any character. The playability is very particular! Great, Great, Great! (the disk swapping used to be awful, indeed)
