The fact is that LESS than 10% of southerners had slaves. The hatred of slavery was taught by many whites back in the day. It was not popular to attack the RICH so many people shut up. The North was more lucrative than the south and the south was more dependant on slavery for profit because the south was the main source for cotton. There are very few people who want black people to leave America; I don't know why people continue to believe this is mainstream. The way to end racism more and more is to stop the belief, in many blacks, that most whites are haters of black folk. Less than 20% of whites hate blacks. But many blacks think it'smore like 90% or more from hearing most of them in regular discourse. It's a problem we all need to tackle. The reality is that most white people don't care what color somebody's skin is.
