Costco is it's own company, no relation to WalMart (thank goodness). Interesting that they have an outside insurance company there, I am sure it's due to being in another country their requirements. That's probably why it's also taking forever to get things settled. Insurance companies are good for slowing things down. I know here in the US if they find negligence the compensation is pretty quick because it is self insured here (no third parties).

Did she ignore the ropes and go under them like I have seen other people doing because they didn't want to wait? Why would she enter a roped off area? @drobles394 Hi drobles394, the reason why my wife had to wear a body cast for over 5 months was to fuse her spinal vertebrae’s together into a single, solid bone. She had to have it so tight that it did not matter which way she laid, I know she suffered for those 5 months the body casts did not take into consideration for woman's breasts and she was constantly in pain due to the pressure she had to succumb.
As for being well today, she had a mild brain injury, I have recently found out that it could have brought on dementia because the symptoms is very much the same, thanks to our corrupted system she never had rehabilitation at all in the early stage of her accident.

I'm sorry to hear what happen and hope she gets better soon. I work at costco myself. The placement of items in the racks is picked by the forklift driver 70% of the time. Our steel racks are checked every hour by one worker who walks the whole store. Yes they do miss some items that could fall off.

i work in a warehouse retailer and we're schooled on the safety of stacking pallets in the reserve steel. the only possible ways a waching machine can fall from that height is if it's stacked on an unstable load (ie bags of dogfood or something), stacked crooked on a pallet or on a damaged pallet, or it isn't wrapped/strapped to the pallet proplerly.
back in 1971 I got a job in a brewery for 5 years I and others were trained in allaspects of the brewing businesss. So stacking pallets of beer was very important. A broken pallet or more of beer is nothing to a large brewery.When they did fall and they you wid not want to be around them.very often the pallets were old wood(Europe is way ahead of us) and the wood would actually break due to a previous fracture.

I don't understand why you are getting police & councils involved, this should have gone to the HSE to investigate, you then hire a barrister to sue Costos insurance company for damages, this takes time & depending on injuries sustained can take years to resolve. This is the legal process.

btw- that's not a body cast. I have scoliosis and a body cast os made of PLASTER. That is a body or back BRACE. I wore one for 7 years growing up.

I jumped for joy at news of the crash air france flight 447. I love watching the plane sink to its watery grave. I enjoy hearing the passengers screaming for help. I'm sorry to hear what happen and hope she gets better soon. I work at costco myself. The placement of items in the racks is picked by the forklift driver 70% of the time. Our steel racks are checked every hour by one worker who walks the whole store. Yes they do miss some items that could fall off.

I am so sorry. I have a disease in my spine now, and fibromyalgia throughout my body because of a hit and run accident that happened to me when I was 17 years old. I didn't begin to suffer terribly until two years later, but my spine is messed up badly. I have went through the ringer with doctors, lawyers, therapists. I just can't tell you how it's been in my life. I am just now getting someone to come in to my home to help, because my mom can't help me. I could have used help all along.

wake up people. this is nothing. these companies do this everyday. they dont care about you. what are you gonna do? until people stand together and demand accountability and stop buying from these big merchants, you will continue to let them get away. i'm sorry about your wife's suffering.

Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry to hear about this accident! I hope she feels better - poor thing! I fell and broke both of my arms at a tourist attraction not far from where I live because the district had not pasted a piece of brick down on the ground - it was sticking up - and what gets me is that there are brick all over the place like this and other peopkle have fallen and been injured like myself so I'm trying to write to the media and the district- and ask them to please fix the problem

im sorry to here about it, but lawyers are just parasites.. ok i saw perfectly normally stacked washing machines, not "dangerously" overlapped washing machines.. i have worked at a price mart( its basically the same thing, different name and different generic brand..), and they only fall if its dangerously unbalanced.. not overlapped by 20%.. its not negligence.. is it negligence when a tree knocks over a power line? no, its a simple accident.. costco is the most strict store i know of..

i didn't watch this whole video, but did he explain how the washing machine fell?
i work in a warehouse retailer and we're schooled on the safety of stacking pallets in the reserve steel. the only possible ways a waching machine can fall from that height is if it's stacked on an unstable load (ie bags of dogfood or something), stacked crooked on a pallet or on a damaged pallet, or it isn't wrapped/strapped to the pallet proplerly.

back in 1971 I got a job in a brewery for 5 years I and others were trained in allaspects of the brewing businesss. So stacking pallets of beer was very important. A broken pallet or more of beer is nothing to a large brewery.When they did fall and they you wid not want to be around them.very often the pallets were old wood(Europe is way ahead of us) and the wood would actually break due to a previous fracture.
No one was seriously injured. However,stacking heavy objects like costco STUPID! SU

I am so sorry to hear of this, of what that negligent company caused to happen to her. They should never stack things that high!!!
I wish that she will have a recovery from this as if it had never happened but I know that this is unlikely.

Buddy! My heart goes out to you both... 4 years!! bloody outragous... Costco should be ashamed of themselves! OK... accidents can happen... but that is why these companies pay for insurance! Cosco should instruct their lawyers to settle... and settle quickly, so you can get on with your lives. Stay strong my friend... and keep shouting!!! do you have a contact e-mail for costco? I for 1 would have no problem e-mailing them to say I am disgusted. peace!

I don't understand why you are getting police & councils involved, this should have gone to the HSE to investigate, you then hire a barrister to sue Costos insurance company for damages, this takes time & depending on injuries sustained can take years to resolve. This is the legal process.
As for boycotting huge businesses etc... Who else are you going to buy stuff from on a Sunday or at 8.00 at night????

so sorry, we too have been injured by a toxic product, a child, and her mother. we found there is NO justice, and no one is accountable, we will never recover fully, we will get cancer as end point, thank you Home Depot. for killing a family.

i there sorry to here about the tregedy. i work for costcos it really is a great place to work. i also know that insurance companies are evil. at are store everything that goes on the shelves have to be wrapped and wrapped with plastic so it cant fall. do you know if those washing machines were wrapped properly.

Actually this story is SO dramatic, IT'S JUST the kind of thing covered by WATCHDOG TV SHOW -; an ordinary couple of average means Vs HUGELY rich Costco and the law. SO UNFAIR and SO unhelpful, SO guilty of negligence.
The pics of dreadful injuries to your wife, the loss to your quality of life for SO LONG,- ALL vividly hi-light the injustice and mean-mindedness you continue to face.
