  • Great song

  • My Dad passed away in May this year - this was his favourite track ever and we had sooooooooo many good nights dancing to this song with our Dad. It was his song at his funeral and it made us all smile and laugh...Thank you Jeff Beck and Band for all you did to make my dad happy...He was your biggest fan.

  • I know this song has been around forever but... it's still strange seeing Jeff singing XD

  • Anyone else wanna scream this song till their lungs burst???? XD

  • @MidgetBuddie MeMeMeMeMe!!! :D

  • this is one of my favorites. groovy. jeff beck has got it

  • Groovyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :-))))))))))))) x x x

  • this song reminds me of neil diamonds - sweet carolina b/c of how it rolls into the chorus

  • This song always reminded me of early Pink Floyd something off of "A saucer full of secrets."

  • *gasp* Beck is singing?!?!

  • @jonahtran1 What he's doing barely classifies as 'singing'!

  • "Cos it's a special occasion" LOL

  • i'm a yougster but this is good music,i like hardcore but this music they don't make any more! dus vertel me maar is dat ni waar is. breek gewoon u neus;-)

  • Fun song... now a UK soccer anthem. A couple of weeks ago I interviewed the writer of this song who plays it on the piano on my video podcast "Viva Nashville" found on youtube .com/VivaNashville .... hope you enjoy.

  • wolves beat man u 2-1. heard this ringing out at a rocking molineaux. well done wanderers!

  • cool

  • Pensei que ele nunca tivesse tocado essa música ao vivo, ele já disse que a odeia.

  • jeff beck singing LOL

  • And its hiho minsterley aggro

  • Angus Young heard this song first, and then he was Jeff Becks huge fan! :D

  • What an incredible performance!

I've been a fan since the Yardbirds. I'm so glad to have been alive to hear this stuff.

    Thanks Jeff

  • this is one great performance! Thanks to Jeff Beck and everyone else on that stage.

  • Jeff is the greatest!!! he's my idol since I begun to speak and understand what music is, this is a simple but very fascinating song in that it brings me back into very beautifull times! I love it!

  • jeff becks great...bloody great guitarist..n great taste in cars!!!!

  • @thomasahern1992 bristol rovers

  • cool =D

  • Tambien está Andy Fairweather Low

  • kwl song

  • cool song no sense but many songs never did then. What about Luci In The Sky With Diamonda and the rest.

Cool song and Jeff Beck is second to none as is Stevis Winwood.Class acts both of them. They rock.

  • I've these DVD amazing!

  • xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • I never heard of this song before reading an interview of Beck in a British newspaper. Great tune!!

  • lol, Jeff Beck should not be singing, charity concert or not.

  • HI HO BRISTOL CITY !!!

  • @millsy1995 to right buddy :D <3

  • Frankie j Holden and Vinnie and the Vibrators used to play this at the Roxy and the Star Hotels in Sth Melbourne.....brings back memories....and remember""these guys where pretty fucking good""

  • ands its Fuck off Wolverhampton

  • I saw him and Clapton play this on Saturday night, I can safely say it was the best thing in my entire life!

  • I was there too last saturday....awesome!!!

  • tehe... cool

  • HIGH HO BRISTOL ROVERS

  • Plymouth Argyle

  • For those knocking "Flash" yes it is synth driven, but here are still some good stuff on there. 'Escape' is still decent, but besides 'People Get Ready' I also really like the song ' You Know We Know'

  • vinnie and the vibrators with frank holden used to do a great cover of this back in the 80s

  • evrything, except for Jeff Beck, of course. It's just too synth driven. Just like most 80's drek. I don't blame Beck though. He's just going with the musical style of the day and seeing how his guitar work can fit. Hell, he could make a song ike "Feelings" sound cool if he played it.

  • Good sport, that Jeff.

  • and its hi ho "ASTON VILLA"......lol

  • @baldandold A common mistake. You surely meant 'Bristol Rovers'.

  • GREEN ARMY!!!!

  • @baldandold Money I saved on car insurance, we could have bought Ditmar van Nostrilboy.

Well known fact the best thing ever to happen to Plymouth was the arrival of a certain gashead...

  • LoveitLoveItLoveitLoveit

  • Shit! Can't believe Beck would ever perform this song live much less sing it. I thought he hated it and would never be talked into it. Especially since he was forced into recording it in the first place.

  • it's ironically he performed it a week ago with David Gilmour.

  • and yet he retired Freeway Jam from his performances 10 years ago. which one would you rather hear

  • both, they're good tunes.

  • but if you had to choose one.....

  • probably HI Ho, because besides "Scatterbrain" and "Cause we"ve ended as lovers", blow by blow isn't my type of Jeff Beck Album.

  • wow! a purist! I like it all from BecK. Except maybe Flash!

  • The only song I heard from flash was "People get Ready" which is got some good leads. He has a good plethora of stuff but he is even better live.

  • right should not have done that

  • Awesome Song

    Thanks Dude =D

  • 'FANTASTIC'! This wud b the last song played at a 'Kid's' Disco,I used 2 go 2 wen I was 11!! Loved it then, Love it even more now.Straight 2 my 'FAVS'! Truly GR8 Song. Love the 'VID' 2. Thanx 4 Posting. X

  • I finally found it. It is an impression!

  • Anybody heard the Jeff Beck's album Flash? He sings two songs on it - TWO!! At least he's the greatest guitarist ever

  • Nice post..gabybtz7!! TY

    TY for the share Tricia!

  • Great share, Tricia. Thanks!

  • GREAT POST GREAT SOnG awesome share tricia

  • I dream or Jimmy Page is in the drum? I dream surely...

  • He looks vaguely like Robert Plant, but it's almost certainly the late Mitch Mitchell, given the clip's description and Mitch's general look.

  • More like Roger Daltrey

  • That's Simon Phillips on drums.

  • Yes it's Simon, not Mitch Mitchell. The poster should change his description.

  • that he would ever perform it hahaha

I thought he hated it :P

  • They not very good singers or there is no cute people singing

  • Jeff Beck singing!!!!!! That is so cool.

  • simply faboulous

  • my friends band sings this song .

i like it makes everyone dances

  • Up the wolves!

  • Great song shame the yam yams spoil it Wolverhampton wankers, give it the big one at the match when the dirty bastards are spitting on away fans below them in the stand, then you can never find them after the match, they ran home to their mommys,B.C.F.C. COMING TO GET YOU IF YOU AINT RAN OFF AGAIN ?

  • Wolverhampton wankers!? You see this is why I hate football - it brings out the worst in people.

  • Thanks for taking the time to verify Andy Fairweather-Low. Appreciation in abundance. Keep on rockin'.

    Whoooooooooooooooooo!! :o)

  • Silly song, but kind of cool too...he is the greatest guitar player going.

  • Jeff is FOREVER!

one of the BEST guitar god in the world.

  • The lack of enthusiasm he plays it with here shows his feelings for the song. I believe he only played it here becacause it was a benefit for Ronnie Lane (Small Faces) who had died from MS. Wasn't another of Mickie most's songs forced on jeff to sing a long forgotten piece of crap called Tallyman? Jeff was playing with Rod at the time but forced to sing instead, Rod sang Rock Me on the B side.

  • Ronnie Lane came onstage with them at one point during this show, he wasn't dead yet. He didn't die until 1997.

  • Wasn't Jeff obliged to cut and sing on this single due to a contract with Mickie Most? He hated it although it's going to remain his best known number amongst dancers at discos forever!! Poor Jeff - the best Yardbird, rock guitarist and free spirit who never played a solo the same twice (unlike Clapton who always does!) and reason I bought a brand new telecaster in the 60's that I still have. Did any of you catch him playing in Screaming Lord Sutch's Savages when he started out. He is THE man!

  • Yer Parakarter..sure is Andy singing along.

  • Is that not Andy Fairweather-Low on stage alongside Stevie Winwood? Just wondering.

  • Yes it is Andy Fairweather-Low

  • hi ho we hate derby

  • hi ho wolverhampton a classic tune at molineux b4 every game come on the wolves

  • How's the South Bank nowadays.. only time I went to Wolves, had to share the South Bank with West Ham Fans !! (Long time ago) Better than the Holte End I guess josephgreer !!!

  • This song is part of Jeff's early solo career. It's a goofy song in the same way The Cream's song Wrapping Paper is. In 2008 Jeff is playing brilliantly and probably the best he has ever sounded, so who gives a shite. Chuck Berry's "My Ding A Ling" was a P O S also.

  • A laff riot, this song is.

  • Jeff Beck still rules!! This song was a one-off performance for a 'special occasion' & it is what it is --- I see him every time he comes to town & he blows my mind each & every time!! Cheers, mates:-)

  • Anyway love Jeff Beck, he was extremly talented, he just had some bad luck, if he had a bit more luck he could of been you know more famous then he is now, I mean Eric Claptan famous becaus technically hes better/as good as anybody else out their

  • HI HO Tottenham Hotspur..

And before anyone says anything more, Jeff Beck was a spurs fan!!!

  • Jeff Beck's always hated this song which his producer/manager at the time, Mickie Most, forced him into doing. It continues to be a favourite at police discos in the UK to this day...

  • This classic hit comes from 1967 and it got to no.14 in the charts of that very year and spent 14 weeks on it!

  • That's Steve Winwood and Andy Fairweather Lowe on backing vocals isn't it?

  • You're right it is!!!

Why weren't they doin' their own thing..??

  • Is it just me or was that a shit performance of that song. The solo sucked. Personally I don't see what the fuss is about Jeff Beck *takes cover*...

  • I believe it is just you.

  • No. I just listened again and it's not good.

  • ...what is not good? It's for fun...he's not Robert Plant...but Jeff is a guitar player not a singer...it's a funny song...meant to have fun together with the audience and it is played as it needs to be played...it's a sweet gift that Jeff gives to the public :-)

  • ...I forgot...and that's for a very special occasion he plays Hi Ho Silver Lining...the ARMS concert for his friend Ronnie Lane... R.I.P. forever remembered

  • I did not know this.. You are clearly Jeff Beck fanatic. Most people who listen to this song would not know so much. I have been playing it in a band and thought this wasn't very good when compaired to other versions i've listened to. That's all... But I still don't see the fuss over him.

  • xpack1, you really need to check out more Beck! Forget this song. He's the greatest :-).

  • i will. that's a fair comment

  • lmao... wow

    sweet song

  • I can't believe he resurrected this. In the liner notes of Truth he describes the success of this song as having to wear a "little pink toilet seat around his neck for the rest of his fucking life."

  • Yeah the funnest song of all time (and no I don't mean funniest.)

  • Fun song...Simon Phillips on drums rather than Mitch Mitchell, Fernando Saunders on bass...Winwood and Andy Fairweather-Low on vocals. This concert video is excellent.

  • HiHO all the Jimmy Pages, and Pete Townshends out there!

  • Hi Ho Aston Villa

  • when your watching TV and its come on

BRISTOL CITY! i see the sun is shining.

u gtta love this song lol... whens its played at ashton gate it gets to that part and cuts off and all you can hear is there atmosphere of the every single fan singing there heart out for city. quality

  • thats absolute bollocks...i went to a city home game and no one sang. where as at Bristol Rovers with a couople of thousand less attendance the atmosphere is twice as good. my spine tingles when the gas sing this.

    HI HO BRISTOL ROVERS!

  • RUBBISH. city have shit atmosphere. ive been so i know u talk out of ur arse shithead

  • While you are watching TV.....!!!!!

  • hi ho sheffield wednesday

  • Feel sorry for you this season mate. We (Palace) are doing shite this season too. Love this song though, sounds great after your mob score!

  • this was the first glam rock song in my view!!

  • Unbeleivable, I was at this show. The Dec 3 1983 show.
