Great video, thanks a lot! My father in law brought over a 22 that he couldn't find a key for. Following this video I had the lock off in probably 10 seconds!
I inherited my Fathers 3006, and can't find his key..was googling and found this video , and was stoked to see it was from Matt from CRR! thanks for video friend, from a fellow gun nutter in the Maritimes!
Dude, you just saved me some agony. My dad lost the key to his revolvers trigger lock. He thought he found it but it wasn't the right one. 20secs later I had it open with a screw driver!!!! EPIC man. Thanks a lot!!!!
@chanman819 Yes it is. I had a Bushnell Banner 1.5-3.5x on it at the time I shot the video. Now it sports only its iron sights. Still very accurate. Check my "Stevens 300F at 200 yards" video to see how well it shoots.
Nice vid and all but you kind of should of realised that not only would the poor guy with the problem will see this but people who have ill will and not so good intentions will or may see this. I am gun pro but, showing how to by pass security devices is usually a bad idea since more then likely the wrong people you don't want to have this info tend to more then often see this stuff. Just the opinion of a person who worries the saftey of others. I hope this is only for cheap locks.
@TheHiddenPart Well the lock looks cheap anyhow. There are ones that cover the area that he got the screwdriver in. Well just as long as you got a good vault safe your good cause then you would need plasma torches and diamond saw blades and alot of time.
@GurdianReaper I think the point of a trigger lock would be to avoid unauthorized use of a firearm kept ready at hand ( inside a closet, nightstand etc ) by kids or untrained people.. nothing malicious anyway.
Too bad 1) trigger locks are slow to take off in case of need and 2) kids are much smarter than that nowadays.

Is that one of the Stevens 300F trapper carbines? What glass do you have on there?

@BowsandGuns Yes it does. This technique will work on all trigger locks that are based on the rotating ratchet design.
