A device called Super Gameboy was released with Donkey Kong (94). It let games use color palettes from the Super Nintendo, as well as a handful of other minor enhancements. It could also run non-SGB enhanced titles and Gameboy Color games, though both would be in monochrome or with your own custom 4 color palette.
It just seems short. Those levels that make the game appear to loop? Those are actually different levels stored in the cart that are identical to the other levels and so forth-that sorts out the whole space limitation thing...but i heard the Atari XEGS port does the the Pie Factory level...
Also, this game does look like a precursor to Mario VS. Donkey Kong, which i just happened to get post Christmas...
I am very glad you decided to LP this game it's very good. I have the cartridge as well. try to make good use of the handstand position, barrels that hit your feet will be deflected. The hammer toss ability, press b to toss the hammer in the air you can then climb a ladder and re grab the hammer for more pounding action on the next floor. Good Luck!
No the pie factory was'nt in the arcade or the Nes version

The pie factory (cement plant) level was taken out of most console versions because of space limitations. But it was in the original arcade.

Space limitations? the game is crazy short. I always heard it was due to all the moving objects slowing the game down too much on the nes.

easily the best cartridge on the original Game Boy. And one of the best platform/puzzle I ever played.
