I am in the Indianapolis area myself and running low power AM on 1250 for now but looking into a frequency change. The transmitter is built from a kit and quite unique in one way. Because of largely running audio streams from the internet that already exist my setup does not have a stream but even over the air and on the AM band its actually in stereo. This is using the Motorola C-QUAM AM stereo system which can be decoded by a number of car tuners along with some home tuners.
@wa4aos his setup is legal the grounding wire can be longer than ten feet, it is your grounding rod or lead that is at ground level can not exceed ten feet, the transmission line is where the transmitter is at ground level and the antenna is up at a higher level. the procaster transmitter is up at 55 feet as said in the video the antenna is connected to the transmitter. trust me... his setup is legal.
had my fm up about 25 ft in the air had a nice coverage

Hi Bro,
I like your set up but I believe to be legal the antenna length and ground can not exceed 3 meters.
Here is the text from part 15 .219 of the FCC regs.
b) The total length of the transmission line, antenna and ground lead (if used) shall not exceed 3 meters.
Personally, I would not want the Feds to get involved with the possibility of fines and confiscation
of equipment.
I am researching LPAM myself and would like to cover a block or two with commercial free radio.
God Bless,
Glenn

If the transmitter is at the top of that 50 ft pole...how do you get the power and the audio signal to it?
