  • @Jessi99N

actually it's tune in, turn on, drop out, drop in, switch off, switch on and explode.

the " tune in, turn on, drop out" part is a counterculture phrase from the later 1960's that promotes the use of LSD among young people. ;D

  • is that Eddie Izzard?

  • My favorite scene in the movie

probably because I was high when I watched it

    it was hilairous

  • as the Nostalgia critic would say.....BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT~!

  • drop in drop out and explode

umm............ ( head for the door honney go)

  • Reminds me of the dude in Moulin Rouge... or is that him?

  • its like listening to the real song. Only you're hogh on acid

  • The Beatles were poets

  • When i first listened to this song i imagined a circus act or something similar. I think that they could have made a much better scene in this movie with the song. First if i was the director i would have made the guy actually sing the song. In the movie he pretty much just scram part of the lyrics. Dont get me wrong i liked the movie I just thing that they could have done better on this part.

  • this scene still confuses me.... I dunno wtf im looking at.. I love the movie and understand it..but I dont get ithis scene.. anyone care to explain??

  • @funnydbzchick i dont think we r supposed to understand it

  • Okay. They made this song seem more druggy than it is.

  • hahahah i love this scene, the stoned looking mr.kite guy is hilarious the way he explains the circus or whatever the fuck its supposed to be

  • an insult to the beatles and music in general. CRAP.

  • @animascat not insult, great tribute.

  • ITS GREAT, THEY GOT STUFF

  • Any one els hate it when you go for a dump and the watter hits your ass

  • i think this scene was kinda crazy im going to the circus this week now lol

  • i think this scene was kinda crazy

  • The Beatles were the strongest voice of a generation of many strong, talented voices. Nature set them apart for a reason. It is so we do not just think they were just another great band, so we look closer and listen a little better. When we do, we will discover that they were prophets. Go to truthcontest (dot) com and open The Present, then read the section about The Beatles.

  • WHat the fuck

  • This scene freaked te shit outta me O__O.

  • I really didn't like this part of the movie...

It had no affect on the plot whatsoever.

And the cover is... bleh. It could be better. He's mostly talking for the whole thing... XD

The rest of the movie was great, I just thing they should have cut this trippy part out.

And that's my two cents. c:

  • @iloveroxasaxeldemyx Really? I thought it sounded more like talking in rhythm...like a beat generation rap hahha but thats my two cents. I mean this was the sixties.

  • @13baisi: I suppose. c: But in my opinion, I like the original song better... >W<

  • reminds me oddly of sesame street

  • eddy izzard is awesome..he always does great no matter how small of a part he has.

  • @eldridgegirl ...at least that's what his wife says!

  • @LeamingtonSteve lmfao! good one :)

  • hmmm this must be one of the CHEEEEZiest parts of the movie

  • @IAimToMisbehave42 That makes no sense at all....I like it.

  • Kids, if you need to get high don't do drugs, just watch Across the Universe!

  • this scene of the movie gave me the worst nightmare of my life

  • Is it just me or does his head look too large for his body?

  • bleh

  • haha thats fuckin funny "willy wonka on crystal meth" but yeah it was a damn good movie

  • the beautiful baby blues give Eddie Izzard away. <3 him

  • i was trippin so hard on this part when i first saw it lol...one of my favorite movies for sure

  • i just realised a the start those blue dudes look like the Blue Meanies from Yellow SUbmarine

  • Best lines:

"Have you seen it? It's great, they got stuff."

"Just tune in, turn off, drop out, drop in, switch off, switch on and explode."

"It's me! In the thing! Yeah!"

  • This is one of my favorite movies but this remake sucks!.It reminds me of hearing a good song and having some annoying a-hole doing a very irritating commerical right in the middle of it.

  • eddie izzard rocks

  • The song Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite was inspired by Revelation 13. The entire song can be tied back to that chapter of Revelation, including the famous 'Henry the Horse' phrase!!! • Welcome to acid land.

    Enjoy your trip.

  • the best!!!

  • ....more like Wonka on acid or ecstacy!!!! What a trip. lol

  • This fucks with your head....

  • god i hated this part. its fucking garbage. the strawberry fields and i want you parts were trippy cool and well done, this part was terrible.

  • @MrBurgundy76 ...........take a hallucinogen then watch it!!!! lol

  • Yay for Eddie Izzard!

  • wtf is this

  • Legend has it that John Lennon, refering to the production of this song, told George Martin that he 'wanted to smell the sawdust' of the circus ring. Unfortunately all we can smell here is dog shit.

  • weird. but pretty cool

  • what the fuck is this. way to butcher a great song. i hope whoever arranged this version is ashamed of themselves.

  • this moive was creppy

  • cool

  • seems weird but i did a combination in dance and it was AMAZING

  • people are calling this trippy? the original was waaaaaaaay more trippy than this uninspired garbage!

  • there are some good parts to the movei that i realy love.... this ISNT one of them.

  • nothing cant beat the Beatles but this a good version

  • @jonny09876543211 remember he is not singing this he is saying but still.

  • @jonny09876543211 try The Residents

  • it suxx

  • Lennon must be crying in heaven... or wherever he is...

  • @KpBoss uy suck

  • No u suck

  • this is awesome. weird, but awesome.

  • What a trip...

  • i mean: UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!

  • if you're dissing this song you're dissing Eddy Izzard and that is UNEXCEPTABLE!!!!!

  • i think that they shouldve sang the song like the original

  • Oh and by the by john Lennon never said what his songs were really about, he left it up to you to make up your own mind.

  • yeah

  • This is a fab musical!! Its not about 'The Beatles' About a young man trying to dicover who he is and in the process meeting his father and falling in love.

I think that Jude is very much supposed to be a John Lennon character as he and jude pretty much have the same kind of histoy

  • it,s not what Lennon means, but the meaning you get out of the song that counts in my opinion.

  • I know why he made this song lol he found a poster in an antique store and he said wow Saturday and they got stuff yeah read it in his biography

  • personally i think someone else would have been better suited for the role

  • @Ronbon88 I disagree, eddie Izzard is immense!

  • This creeps me out! Anybody here feel the same?

  • @iNatalie it's mainly the creepy masked dudes.

  • no...

  • man, I love this movie

  • No. The other shit I've seen from Across the Universe is all good, but this is shit.

  • The Beatles' version is better.

  • no shit

  • Well that's because the beatles verizon wasn't part of a story line. This was part of a story line as a narration part.

  • Hell yeah!

    Nobody tops The Beatles!

  • yeah

  • ....without a sound!

  • It's like Willy Wonka on crystal meth. ._.

  • @wingsofhope2 i thought he already was >:D

  • @wingsofhope2 I think Willy Wonka WAS Willy Wonka on meth.

  • @SnoochyB dude, your comment made me laugh waaaaay more than it should have xD

  • @SnoochyB

I feel that my brain esploded from that comment. that was awesome!

  • @SnoochyB Exactly. This is Willy Wonka on meth on meth.

  • @whoareyou342 NO! It's willy wonka on meth on meth on marijuana.

  • @wingsofhope2 bwahahahaha

  • @wingsofhope2

    best thing ever experienced

  • trippppppyyyy

  • I LOVE Eddie Izzard. =]

  • So Hipster for me

  • god dammit. izzard just babbles so much.... at least he stayed with understandable words here DX

  • this guy cracks me up

  • You ruined it! Are you happy now?

  • Just noone sings these songs right except The beatles, that's all I can say. :/

  • I do like this movie. I was a little nervous when I first watched it, because I am a huge Beatles fan. It's true, this movie sort of killed a few of the orignial songs, but i think it sort of gave a new perspective. I don't think the director had any information on the Beatles. Sure, she gave some good references and jokes, but when she was talking about the songs, she seemed absolutley clueless about the meaning of the orignials. [i saw the behind the scenes on the DVD).

  • the film covers weren't bad, but this version is just horrible.. te original is amazing

  • This part creeped me out so bad.

  • I don't think so,

Strawberry Fields was amazing in the movie.

  • I can understand how anyone liked this movie, they flatout ruined so many Beatles songs, particularly this and Strawberry Fields Forever.

  • Strawberry fields in the movie wasnt that bad.........just a bit slower than the real song.

  • THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN TRYING TO TELL PEOPLE! I've only seen "I want you (she's so heavy) but it was enough to keep from listening to the original ever again. This cover ruins the original as well. The movie is enough to where if you aren't familiar with Beatles songs it will seem like the movie soundtrack is spectacular but if you are familiar with the Beatles then the movie fails to compare

  • Pretty much spot-on, most people I've seen that "love" the movie, were not fans of, nor ever listened to any of The Beatles music.

If they were long-time dedicated fans of their music, which I like to think I am, they'd very likely have a big change of view on this movie and it's sad attempts to semi-modernize great classic songs.

  • definitely one of my favorite songs of the whole movie.

  • wow way to blow whoever that is!

  • Too bad the Beatles couldnt all do this themselves. Isnt this Monte Pythons Flying Circus?

  • When my family and I were watching this movie, mom left at this part because she thought it would give her nightmares!!

  • what does "late of pablo fanque" mean?

  • EDDIE IZZARD!

  • when i look at this i fell like im high

  • What the fudge just happened? XD

  • Only good part of the movie. Oh, and Bono was okay.
